Mrxknown's Favorite Co-op Game

Way back when I joined Co-optimus there was this odd thread about arranging co-op session in Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter 2 (GRAW 2). I believe it was looking for co-op partners in this game that brought me to Co-optimus. Third-person or first-person squad combat in an open battlefield? YES!

I remember playing the demo with a buddy of mine online with strangers. We were having a blast so much we bought the game in January of 2008. Then my co-op buddy become lost in the sea of time and I was left to fend for myself without a co-op buddy. Luckily the above thread and co-optimus brought me players that I have continued to play with over the years.

One thing that has continued to place GRAW 2 above other co-op games or series like Halo, Gears of War, Army of Two, etc. Is the total lack of a campaign treatment like those other scripted games. The co-op campaign of GRAW 2 just placed you into battle with your objectives and whatever weapons you initially chosen. No cinematics, no drama, just the mission.

The controls might not be as smooth and latency has been an off and on issue. But nothing beats that feeling of going in with a team and figuring out what to do next.

While you could easily give yourself infinite lives for solo play, playing with a team with no respawns is the best fun I've had. Dead comrades yelling over Live trying to encourage or provide advice.

Players can choose their class and weapons, which allow for a unique experience when different people tackle the objectives. I just love that feeling...
