After a ravishing bout of success on Kickstarter in 2015, Descent: Underground was initially headed for exclusive release on the personal computer.  In fact, just a couple months after its crowdfunding campaign ended, it arrived on Steam's Early Access program.  Things have changed a bit since then, but mostly for the better.

The co-op mode for Descent: Underground is finally here. More than just playing through the other multiplayer modes, this is a dedicated Survival Mode where you and up to three other players try to hold out as long as possible against an unrelenting horde of bots.

Descendent Studios has been hard at work reviving Descent, the beloved six degrees-of-freedom shooter that first saw release in the mid-90s. After a successful Kickstarter campaign last year, Descent: Underground launched on Steam's Early Access last October with just a handful of the planned/promised features. One of those features, co-op, will see release soon.
