Welcome back to Beyond Co-Op Reviews, our critical look at games that don't feature co-op modes....
We've been overwatching Red Solstice 2: Survivors since we checked out the game's alpha a month ago. Now in its final form we dive into the full co-op experience with our squad of four to take on some of the single player story and into the meat of the game's skirmish mode.
The Red Solstice was one of those hidden co-op indie games we adored a few years back, so it's great to see it getting a proper sequel. The Red Solstice 2: Survivors takes place in the year 117 after Earth when corporations rush to secure dominance over the last remnants of humanity. Like it's predecessor, players team up with up ...
Just last week I mentioned to someone that demos "weren't really a thing" anymore. Though I suppose, when you think about it, alphas and betas have taken the place of those. But fret not - because The Red Solstice 2: Survivors is making demos sexy again by having a demo version of the game made available on June 16th. Even better, the demo is focused purely on co-op play with your friends!
The Red Solstice 2: Survivors still doesn't have a set release date, but that doesn't mean you can't play the game now; Ironward has announced that alpha sign-ups are available. If you head over to the registration site and provide an email address, then you can experience the action strategy game for yourself ahead of its impending release.
Back in 2015, a new Croatian developer released their first title: the survival/tactical strategy game, The Red Solstice. We played a couple times for our weekly Monday night "Let's Play Co-Op" streams, and always had fun even if we died a lot. A couple years ago, they then released a twin-stick shooter set in the same universe, Solstice Chronicles: MIA. Now, they've got a new game coming out, The Red Solstice 2: Survivors, a follow-up to their first title, and it's looking to be more of that good tactical strategy action. They released their first gameplay trailer today to show off what we can expect this time around, and we spoke with Hrvoje Horvatek from Ironward about how this all came about.
Dying Light's second DLC is scheduled to hit the title is only a few days! Developer Techland is offering items like unique weapon blueprints and character outfits to kill zombies with style. If you have the Season Pass on your side, then this DLC comes at no extra cost.
While the entire 2k catalog of games is enjoying a big sales weekend on Steam, they're not the only games to be getting a little love. Retrovirus and Sol Survivor are both free until 1 pm PDT Sunday, and if you like what you see, they're also on sale for 60% off! So you can get two great co-op games for around $11 total.
Getting anything free is never a bad thing, especially when the zombie apocalypse is in full effect. In the off chance anyone chooses to go and preorder Dead Island Riptide, some bonus DLC packs will be included along with the purchase.
I am not sure if I’m noticing my own habits of buying games that are similar all at once, or if the world is conspiring to release an onslaught of similar games one after another. This is where you decide. Do you see handfuls of games that appear to be coincidentally similar?
It's been a while since Billy donned his fedora and leather jacket and went off to explore the depths of the modern gaming jungle in search of great independently developed co-op games. Indie-Ana Co-Op returns with an in-depth post-mortem with Sol Survivor developer, Cadenza Interactive.
The people have spoken, and Cadenza Interactive has responded. True to their word that they listen to every bit of feedback they receive, Cadenza has responded to their community's requests and have released a patch that adds campaign co-op to the PC version of Sol Survivor, the co-op tower-defense title that was previously an XBLIG only title. Haven't had a chance to check out Sol Survivor yet? Well, Cadenza has provided us with three Steam keys for the game to giveaway to three of our lucky comunity members. Keep reading for the details.
