Why aren't other games doing the Achievement Notifications like Gears 2? Is it merely based on the game developers to determine whether to devote time to new notification ways or use the old stand by?

 

Its up to the developers to add achievement progress into the games. Left 4 Dead shows how it can be done (well it doesnt notify every now and then in the game, but atleast you have the option to check how many kills you need towards a specific achievement).

And now its nice to hear that Gears 2 will be updated so you can see your progress from the war journal. As for the multiplayer fixes to Gears 2, I bought the game only for co-op campaign and horde, so I'm not affected about those really, except bullet lag perhaps...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance for example, had 2 achievements "kill 4000 enemies" and "throw 500 enemies of a ledge", but you had no way of knowing your progress. Just play and hope the achievement message pops up eventually.

 

Cool good to hear they are updating it to get the Multiplayer functional.
