Halo 3: ODST ViDoc 1's Desperate Measures Reunites the Firefly Cast

Ladies and gentlemen, prepare for your geek-o-meter to hit eleven.  The first vidoc for Halo 3: ODST is available for viewing, and it's narrated by none other than Nathan Fillion.  

Many people know Nathan as Mal from Firefly and Captain Hammer in Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog, but he's also starring as Buck in the upcoming co-op shooter from Bungie.  Now for setting your meter into overdrive.   The game also stars Adam Baldwin (Jayne) and Alan Tudyk (Wash), both co-stars of Firefly.  Finally Tricia Helfer, best known for her roles on Battlestar Galactica and Burn Notice, is also appearing as a voice in the game.  

The video shows off a ton of great gameplay footage, and really sets the mood for what's looking to shape up like a solid title.  Even if some reports are claiming the game is too short.

 

Mike also just informed me that all three Firefly cast members were in the original Halo 3 as well, but only has minor background characters for chatter.  ODST will see cut scenes with dialog between the characters, as shown in the above video.

The staff at Joystiq thinks that the character "Romeo" is voiced by Nolan North, who was featured on In-Game Chat a month or two back. What do the CoG members think?

Why can't games companies take the pixar approach to celebrity voices? Only Mass Effect has done it well imo. Every other game I've seen with them had it really noticable.

A really interesting setting for that cast to come back together - I call dibs on Jayne for co-op! "This here is my very favorite gun."

Great job, Iron Sights! Love the Burn Notice mention (YAY!).

BTW Borderlands will have Iron Sights or scope if the weapon has a scope!

Seems to be a more story-centered game than before.

Curious about your definition of the Pixar approach in this context.

Also, fun fact, Nathan Fillion and Tricia Helfer apparently once co-oped in real life (taken from Threevening with Kevin Smith)

that's your squad throughout the game. "the rookie" is the character you play

They pic voices that suit the suit the character, not just by whos the most famous they can get.
