Genesis Poll Resets, Co-Op Duo Now in the Lead

The Co-Op Gods must be smiling today!  For last week's Co-Op Classics, we covered the twentieth birthday of Sega's Genesis console.  You'll recall that Sega is running a poll to see which classic Genesis game will be released next on XBox Live Arcade.  Earthworm Jim had a commanding lead, with ToeJam and Earl, a great co-op title, in a respectable second.

However, due to a "licensing issue", Earthworm Jim was pulled from the poll.  (Don't worry, it's still coming to XBLA.)  The poll was then reset, and runs through Friday.  As of this writing, ToeJam and Earl has a stellar 42% of the votes, which means we'll likely be playing it over XBLA sometime soon.

Don't forget to tell us your favorite co-op title on the Genesis!  It might be covered in this Friday's Co-Op Classics.

Favourite megadrive/genesis co-op title has to be streets of rage.

Well thats just silly. Many of the games on that poll are available on Sonic's Collection (like Streets of Rage and Golden Axe.)

Of those that are left, ToeJam and Earl is definitely the next best choice. I remember having a game for them with the Sega Menacer where you had to shoot tomatoes at stuff...

ToeJam and Earl glad to hear that Earthworm jim is still coming because if that was still on there nothing would beat it... nothing.

I loved ToeJam and Earl back in the day, only got to play it on a friend's Genesis though, so was never able to finish it.

i know it won't happen, but id love an HD version of the first toejam and earl game. my girlfriend will never play the 16bit version i know it

its the ultimate sunday afternoon hangover game

Seems to work out perfectly. Both getting Earthworm Jim and a nice co-op game. Happy happy days ahead.

I still have the original ToeJam & Earl game, but no one to play with. So this would be cool with online co-op and achievements.

Contra Hard Corps and Gunstar Heroes. Awesome titles. Japanese version of Hard Corps is easier (3x the lives) but still somewhat hard.

there's no Earth Worm Jim to vote for, that's what I would have voted for. they need to put out pitfall- that was a cool game.
