Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 First DLC Character Revealed

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 has unveiled the first of what we hope is a series of downloadable characters to expand their already extensive roster. Sorry, everyone, it's not the Juggernaut. Carnage is the first Marvel personality to make the new list of characters to be released via DLC pack. Buckle your seat belts, it's dinner time!

Carnage, one of my personal favorites from the Spider-man symbiote storyline, leads the pack with his creepy-crawly move set. He'll charge around on all fours, unleash long-distance fury attacks, and he even sounds creepy with his echoing symbiote voice. It should be noted that Carnage is not his over-sized self, as depicted in later Spider-man storylines. Instead, he's his creepy, wiry, murderer "Cletus Kassidy" self once again.

Since we're all about co-op, we wanted to know how Carnage's cooperative Fusion attacks worked with other characters. While the test-run with Wolverine was disappointing to IGN, The Thing had a much more explosive result.

"[I] teamed him with the Thing, and was blown away. Here in a targeted attack, Thing throws Carnage up into the air so that he's off screen before the creature hurtles back to Earth headfirst and eats the intended target (assuming he's a grunt). Carnage just gulps him up and slams into the ground causing all of these cracks in the pavement. Best of all, after the guy was gone, Carnage says "Your spine: it's what's for dinner.""

Sounds appetizing. Who else do you hope to see in this Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC Character pack in the near future? Our vote is for The Juggernaut, what's yours?

Very cool. Carnage was always cool because Kassidy bonded completely with the suit and always referred to himself as I instead of the venom we.

I'm extremely disappointed in VV for this one. Carnage? I'm sure it'll be fun to play as him, but this pick just makes no sense.

First of all, there were only two playable villains in the whole game, and they make them both spider-man villains (Juggernaut was only an exclusive thing that not everyone got). And now the first character we find for DLC is yet another spider-man villain. Seriously- what's with all the spider-man stuff?

Then they tell us that the DLC characters are going to be decided by popularity with the fans. Trust me, there was barely ANYONE asking for carnage on their forums. There were SO many other characters that the fans would rather.

Also, they feel OK putting in 3 spider-man villains, but they have like 5 x-men characters and don't even put in the LEADER of the x-men (Cyclops)? So what's my vote for who I think they'll reveal next? Anti-Venom... or maybe Doc Oc? -_-

Now, I know that there will be plenty more characters, and I'm sure they'll everything we wanted, blah blah, but this is sort of rediculous. I wish Raven Software had made this game instead...

Actually, Psyclops, there were a lot of people wanting Carnage. On the Official Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 website, there was a poll asking "Who would you like to see in the game?" and the choices were "Magneto, Carnage, Juggernaut, and Cable" Carnage came first, Cable second, Magneto third, and Juggernaut LAST. That's right, the guy who got into the game came LAST. So I think Carnage deserves a spot in the game, seeing as he won the poll.

I for one am super-excited for Carnage. I will gladly pay the DLC price for him, although Im hoping hes actually part of a pack. I would rather buy four characters at a time than just one character.

While I am excited for Carnage, and I am a Spidey fan above all other Marvel characters, I do agree that I am disappointed that all the villains have been Spidey (of course besides Juggs.) There are plenty of other villains that would be awesome. However, the fact that they announced Carnage tells us they have DLC characters in the works, so hopefully over time they will release some truly awesome characters (especially Cyclops, because I know how much he means to some of us...)

Alright, but that was just ONE poll, and that's just between those characters. When there were threads asking everyone to just say which character they wanted most, the tops were almost ALWAYS Cyclops, Emma Frost, Psylocke, Bishop, Cable, She-Hulk, Nova, Punisher, and/or Hawkeye. Just look at the one that's stickied. Anyway, Carnage hardly EVER came up on the Official MUA 2 website forum. Even when someone did bring him up, it was just like the same 3 people over and over, and I've been going there for months.

Thanks, I missed that. Im glad to hear it. So that being the case, Im assuming its a while off still, since they only revealed one character. I was hoping it was going to be this week...
