Painkiller Resurrection's Co-Op Mode Not Exactly Intuitive

If you picked up Painkiller: Resurrection on the PC last week with hopes of glorious cooperative stake gunning in your head, you may have been disappointed to find no menu option for co-op.  Rest assured though, the game does have co-op support, it's just a little ridiculous as to how you have to start it.

"To play a coop game you have to start a dedicated server with the tool provided together with your game. Pull in the campaign maps from C9L01 to C9L06, choose FFA and start the game. You can also add / remove bots accompanying you there.  We will add a more convenient ingame coop menu with the next update "

That's from a JoWood representative on the official message boards.  Were you expecting a nice simple solution for co-op?  Sorry, none to be found here.  Thankfully JoWood confirms they are working on a "more convenient way of accessing co-op" in a future update.

Gee thanks.

idk... i haven't seen that in years. its nice when games provide a method for having dedicated servers but to omit an in-game listen server is a little ridiculous these days.

JoWood is an auto pass for me. They routinely print features on a game box and not actually have them in games. I wouldn't hold my breath about them fixing this issue.

Anybody now how to set normal game speed? We're playing coop with bro, and monsters are too quick, their weapons that they are launching are invisible etc... Any fixes?

They remove dedicated servers from Modern Warfare, you complain. They include them in painkiller, you complain.

While I understand it's not an ideal set-up, I do think your being whiny tossers recently. You can't seriously expect every game ever made to be built around co-op do you?

That doesn't sound too bad. Sure, it's a few extra steps that people may not be used to, but at least it's a dedicated server.

Hope the update comes soon to make it easier for the people that play. But on the bright side, at least you can access it at all, right?
