Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Makes A Temporary Comeback

News
Twitter facebook googlebuzz

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 has faced a lot of issues since its release. Fans annoyed with exclusive content, glitches that compromised that exclusive content, then the DLC content and all of the data was pulled from Xbox LIVE and PSN. Neither system even had Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 listed as a game anymore, but now that has changed until the end of 2010.

We made our case (your fan support helped), begged, pleaded, cajoled and didn’t give up and were able to convince the ‘powers that be’ to bring MUA2 DLC back!!

However, there is a catch.

And this is important - I want to make sure this is super clear from the beginning - all good things must come to an end and we are only allowed to have the MUA2 DLC back up through the end of 2010. So there will be about a 6 month window to download the content again, and then it will be gone for good. It’s not a strategy and not our choice, this is just what is allowed so I’m giving you all the advance notice I can.

If you've got the game, but are on the fence about the DLC - you really get a last chance to either buy it, or say goodbye to the exclusive characters for good. As much as I dislike to admit it, I will be getting this pack, simply because I'm a fan of the series. The choice is yours and we thought you deserve to know when your Super Heroes disappear like this.

Yeah, I already posted this in the co-op section, because I'm unable to post here. I bought all DLC last year, but havent had a chance to play online with anyone. Maybe I can find someone to play with now...

I can't find it on the PSN. I've looked under Games, Add-Ons, and even utilized the Search function. There just doesn't seem to by any Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC on the PSN.

If you have the game, I highly recommend it. The DLC characters were pretty awesome, particularly Carnage, who was ridiculous! I did feel they tended to be a bit more over-powered than the default characters, but I'm not complaining.

What could the reason possibly be for this idiocy? There are games on PSN that have been there for years. What's with taking it off, putting it back and then for a limited time only?

Anyone have an idea what's going on behind the scenes? This seems to lack any form of logic whatsoever.

How do the DLC characters work when playing local co-op with the purchaser. Anyone know?

Well... with the Xbox, the DLC is tied to the console. Which means that any profile saved on the same console can play and use the DLC. I'm not sure how it works with PS3, but hopefully the same way.

Time limited DLC is very rare. In this case its probably about Disney buying Marvel last year. Licensing issues...

Thanks Armor Biff. I only play this game local co-op with a buddy, so, it's not really worth the investment to me if only one of us can use it. However, anything else (haven't actually tried any paid for DLC yet) on the consoles HDD can be accessed by every profile on the HDD.

Generally if 1 profile purchases content on the PS3, all users on that console can use it. At least for PSN store games, and the Burnout Paradise DLC I purchased, thats how it worked. My brother came over to my house and signed in under his account and we were able to play all his games on my PS3 as well, and there's no fiddling with "account recovery" this or that.

Also, don;t forget if your buddy doesn't have it you can't play. Especially since after December you would either have to delete your DLC (and forget about re-downloading it) or write that buddy off as a No MUA pal which is very cooperative in nature

No DLC until Activision fixes this for good...and NO Activision games for me at all.

I want Carna-- No, I NEED Carnage.

So once my XBox is fixed, I have got to make a beeline for these.

I'll still play Venom, both for being so powerful and for being my favorite character in the game, but can't pass up having Carnage to finish my dream team.
