Start up the game, choose or create your character, then select either Internet (requires a Runic account to login) or LAN. Either way, you'll then be presented with the server browser which allows you to join or create a game.
If you create a game, you may set parameters for the number of players and level range. You may also restrict your session to friends-only or password protect it.
