Tuesday December 22nd at 8PM Eastern

This month's Games For Windows Co-Op Night takes us into the vast reaches of the galaxy in the beautiful strategy game Sins of a Solar Empire from developer Iron Clad games.  We'll be playing on Tuesday, December 22nd at 8PM Eastern.

There's a few ways to join up.

We'll have a game started right at 8 using the Entrenchment expansion - just join the game named Billy in Space from within the game.  If that's full, we suggest joining Impulse's Sins chat room (click Chat under the More tab at the bottom of the Impulse client) and meet up with other folks to play!  Of course you could always set something up right on this thread as well!

Keep on reading to learn all about the PRIZES you could win as well!

The Co-Op Experience:
Choose from a wide range of scenarios to complete. Each scenario ranges in size and the number of players it supports.

Players can work together to conquer enemy AI, utilizing interface tools for communication and collaboration.

Sins of a Solar Empire Background:
Ten millennia have passed since you and the few survivors of the once mighty Vasari Empire fled from an unknown threat that all but exterminated your kind. You now find yourself at the fringe of the galaxy in a sector occupied by a pathetically primitive species - one obsessed with trade and lacking any central organization or military technology. Calling themselves the Trader Emergency Coalition, they would have been ideal slaves in the glorious days of the past, but time is of the essence. Use your mastery of phase-space manipulation, gravity and nanotechnology to quickly eliminate any local resistance and acquire the necessary resources to fuel the next segment of your continuing exodus.

Visit the Official Sins of a Solar Empire homepage for more information.

Contest

It wouldn't be a co-op night without a contest - and we've got lots of goodies to give away!  First up, courtesy of Stardock, we have two copies of the upcoming Sins of Solar Empire expansion called Diplomacy!  You'll get instant access to the beta for it as well!

But what if you don't have Sins of a Solar Empire?  Good news then!  We have two copies of the game to giveaway as well.  Not just any copies, no...no...no.  Two complete packs with the included Entrenchment expansion.

I hear what you are saying - "Surely you good people of Co-Optimus don't have more stuff to giveaway."  "Surely the gaming gods can't continue to smile down upon us."

Well I say - "Oh my good people of Co-Optiland the gods are smiling.  They are shining brightly.  Or perhaps that bright shine is your brand new Games for Windows Lighted signs!"

These lights are over 3 feet in length and are of the same quality you'd see in a retail store.  And we have 2 to giveaway!*

So leave a message below, tell us what looks good to you.  Enter to win all three.  We don't care, it's the holiday season and we feel like GIVING!  Contest ends Tuesday December 22nd at 3PM Eastern.  Good luck!

*Note the GFW Signs are for US residents only.  Sorry!

While I sadly won't be able to join in the co-op night, as I'll be in Alaska w/out my desktop. I would totally love to have that GFWL light.

I already have the diplomacy add-on so save that for someone else.

Would love that sign in my room. Sadly I don't have the game.

DANG! Lots of stuff. I am utterly undeserving of the sign, but the game sounds good to me.

Game sign is the only thing I want. Huge Games for Windows fan.

I've been playing Sins alot recently, but I'm still amazed about how it can work online as games often last into the hours. 3 hours of ODST to much? Try 5 hours of sins.

That's why there's a save feature.

That sign looks great! I don't have any idea where I could put it, but I'm sure I can find a place somewhere. Ans I don't have the game but always wanted to try it, maybe even convince my friends to try it at our next LAN.

Forget what I said about the sign, I'm from Canada, so it's a no go for me... =(

In for the contest.

That sign looks far more slick than it has any right to, nice going Co-Optimus crew!

Oh man, I'd so totally love to enter for the Diplomacy expansion. Love the heck out of Sins, though the one thing I hate is that "5 more minutes" feeling. You know, when you think you've finally gotten on a roll and you and your friends are sure you are going to win, and your woman asks "How much longer?" "5 more minutes hun!"... Next thing you know it's 1AM and you're thinking the computer HAS to concede by now!

Oh, and think I'll be in for some Sins tomorrow =)

--- Replying to Khrymsyn -----

When I think about "5 more minutes" my mind wanders to Heroes of Might and Magic. There was always just one more town to take over, just one more turn to do, just one more stack of monsters to destroy...

I can't play those kinds of games anymore, or else I forget to sleep.

Yay! I won. Can't wait to play it. I got amazing luck!
