PlayStation 4 Price Drops $50 in North America

Sony has dropped the price of the PlayStation 4 $50 today, effective on all bundles and stand alone versions of the system. This brings the 500GB standard price to $349.99 and the bundle price (varies depending on game and drive size) to $349.99 to $429.99. The prices go into effect on October 9th, though some retailers are obviously already dropping the prices for the console.

We spent all those weeks writing a backstory, and they still get killed by a pit trap.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Level 5 Paladin Edition

Hello!  Welcome to another edition of Our Weekend in Gaming, a weekly series in which we tell you just what the Co-opticrew will be up to in our hard-earned free time.  Hopefully, you'll get some inspiration as well!  As of right now, the proverbial tea leaves seem to indicate that Sword Coast Legends is the way to go.  Even though the full release isn't until later this month, the Head Start program offers would-be adventurers a chance to test their mettle against all the dangers the Sword Coast has to offer (I'll give you a hint, most of it involves blades).  Should you be of the "Game Master" persuasion, though, you'll also get a chance to test your mettle as those dangers.  You jerk.

One big step for the future of playing together.

Xbox One November Update Looks To Change The Way You Play With Friends.

November looks to be a big month for Microsoft, with its Xbox One side of things thanks to a major update that will be bringing backwards compatibility to the general public and an upgrade to the systems UI. This revitalization to the system is being powered by Windows 10 and looks to be the biggest and most user friendly update in the Xbox Ones history.

Back when honor was crucial and the life expectancy was about thirty.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Let's Get Medieval Edition

Hello, weary co-operators!  Come, come, shelter yourself against the harsh Fall weather for a moment.  Hear our tales of future happenings while you get warm.  Some of our other patrons consider themselves swordsmen and aim to dethrone some sort of Taken King.  Others are tying up loose ends with old games, or capturing helpless Russian soldiers.  Perhaps we could interest you in a bit of video entertainment tonight?  Our house troupe, F.A.L.C.O. will be live at 9PM CDT, should you be so inclined.

I will find you, and I will loot grind you.

Our Weekend In Gaming: The Crew Got Taken Edition

Hey there!  Enoch here, your guide to all things Weekend in Gaming.  The most obvious choice for our government-mandated vacation time is Destiny's new "The Taken King" expansion.  Thankfully, some of our staff isn't legally insane, so we're also playing virtual hockey, sneaking into military compounds, and and piloting poorly designed space stations.  Check it out, and be sure to catch F.A.L.C.O. tonight at 9PM CDT!

A look at two new elite specializations and Masteries

MMO Co-Opportunities Volume LVIII: Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns Beta Preview, Part 2

Last month, MMO Co-Opportunities featured part 1 of a hands-on preview of the upcoming expansion for Guild Wars 2, Heart of Thorns. In it, I gave some impressions of the new profession (the Revenant), one of the new elite specializations for the game (the Dragonhunter for the Guardian), and some thoughts of the general feel of the new zone. This mo...

I heard that if you fulton another fulton, the game becomes Silent Hills.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Tactical Balloon Edition

Hey gang, what's up?  It feels like just yesterday that the staff was rife with an urge for strategy games.  That feeling has passed, though, shifted to a slightly more tactical craving.  Tactical espionage, that is.  Otherwise, we're discovering the magic of the indie gaming scene, yelling at our significant others in space, and playing virtual board games.  As always, be sure to check out Eric Murphy tonight at 8pm CDT as he and the F.A.L.C.O. crew take on the somehow wealthy undead.

Big expansion is on the way.

Guild Wars 2 is Now Free

So, the core version of Guild Wars 2 is now, as ArenaNet puts it, Play for Free. That's the good kind of free that really means free, not the kind of free that involves microtransactions for everything from equipping weapons to in-game sneezing. You can download the client and start playing the core version of Guild Wars 2 right away. Or tomorrow, or whenever you feel like it, really. It's free, baby!

But wait, there's a catch!

Nvidia Share Could Make Local Co-Op a Little Less Local

Local co-op is great. You get to sit down with friends, play some lag-free games, and save your best curses for online co-op. The catch is that you have to haul everybody over to your place to get said gaming sessions going. Worse still, you usually have to put on pants for those sessions, and that's just not right. Good thing Nvidia is working on something that might fix that limitation.
