Sesame Street: Once Upon A Monster Dev Diary Focuses On the Kiddies

The Xbox 360 and Kinect motion controller sold a ridiculous amount of units last week.  If you're a new Kinect owner, and still have some holiday shopping to do for the kids, you may want to check out Sesame Street: Once Upon A Monster.  This new video focuses on the family aspect of the game.  We really liked the title ourselves, giving it a  4.5 out of 5 in our Co-Op Review.  If you want to get your youngsters into gaming, but still want them active, this is a pretty cool option.

Cuddle up with the Kinect and your Kid

Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster Co-Op Review

It's amazing what a little time can do to your perspective of things. When I founded Co-Optimus a game like Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster wouldn’t have even been on my radar - I was a man that cared more about the next Halo then I did about the next casual or kids title. But now as the father of a two and a half year old girl, Once Upon a Monster instantly appealed to me as a way to entertain her and enjoy something with her, without having to watch another episode of The Fresh Beat Band.

Gather the Kids for Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster

I know what you're thinking; "Oh great, another kids game for the Kinect."  And you'd be right!  But what separates Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster from other Kinect titles?  Tim. Schafer.  His Double Fine Productions have recently created a slew of successful downloadable games over the past year.  This latest venture includes an iconic licensed franchise and kid-friendly motion controls.  It should be awesome.  I'm going to try the demo right now!

Cookie Monster is So Over Zombies

Tim Schafer has got a game to pitch.  You may have heard of this game before.  It's got zombies, and it's going to be awesome!  Oh noes!  Not zombies!  They've been done to death! GET IT??? Cookie Monster is having none of it.  Check out this cutesy video during your down time from the nigh criminally violent video games you've been playing all week.

Live action trailer reveals how Once Upon a Monster was conceptually born

New Once Upon a Monster Trailer Stars Tim Schafer

It's been awhile since we've reported on the upcoming Double Fine Kinect game, Once Upon A Monster. With its October release fast approaching, the studio has released a trailer for the game, co-starring Tim Schafer and Cookie Monster. While the trailer is short on information about the actual game (and never actually answers the question of whether an Xbox 360 can play a chocolate chip cookie), it serves as a reminder that Double Fine will certainly be applying their classic humor to this young kids game.

It's the lovable monster Marco's birthday, and no one showed up for the party. Well, that was before co-op was confirmed - now everyone should show up at his party. Or, everyone that fits in front of your Kinect anyway. Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster is now officially co-op through the most adorable Sesame Street storyline imaginable - no strings attached.

No "Veggie Monster" in Double Fine's Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster

Remember seeing those Sesame Street and Star Wars behind-the-scenes videos, where Steve Whitmire and Frank Oz could be seen holding lifeless Muppets with blank stares high above their heads as the conferred with the director? The ones that made you realize that you've never seen your favorite character's feet because they didn't have any? Scoff if you like - you know very well that your first reaction was horror...and still is, to this day. Watch this without cringing, and then come back with your chest puffed out, Bruiser.
