Hey there, friends. It's a pleasure having you back around for yet another edition of Weekend in Gaming. Far Cry 5 is still on the mind, of course, but it's beginning to fade away in favor of more varied plans. Such is the journey of a brand new co-op game.
The Co-Opticrew has quite a few plans to engage in gaming of the "tabletop" variety this weekend, and I simply couldn't be happier. There are few things in this world that can top a nice night spent with friends, drinks and snacks in hand, as you huddle around a kitchen table and find out the fate of your adventuring party/warring countries/what-have-you. I'll be demanding nothing less than a full report of these escapades on my desk by Monday morning.
April is here bringing with it content patches and expansion announcements for MMOs. For this installment of MMO Co-Opportunities, we’ll be discussing the new Elder Scrolls Online expansion, the release of Secret World Legends’ next story installment, and the start of Season 14.5 in Star Trek Online....
Slowly but surely, it's getting warmer around these parts, so the Co-Opticrew is enjoying the weather with some older titles. Maybe the rising temperatures are making us nostalgic for the days of summer vacation, or maybe we're subconsciously preparing ourselves for a bout of the Summer Doldrums. Either way, many of us will be digging into the archives for the next few days.
For what feels like the first time this year, the Co-Opticrew's weekend plans aren't necessarily dominated by one or two games in particular. Instead, we've got quite the assortment of titles to choose from. I'll be savoring this moment, as Far Cry 5 is right around the corner, so I imagine it'll be quite some time before I get this sort of variety again.
We've got battle royales and talking, aggressive rats on the mind this weekend. Unfortunately, those two things aren't combined, but I'm definitely trademarking that IP. Soon, I'll be the next Video Game Millionaire, and thousands of teens will stand in line to play my take on the "Murder Island" genre. So long, suckers!

The Co-Opticrew is taking some time this weekend for a little early Spring Cleaning. Specifically, we'll be cleaning hordes of talking rats out of the gutters and alleyways of the Old World in Vermintide 2. It's a tough job, but luckily, we stopped by our local hardware store and grabbed a few new pyromancy spells and various bludgeoning tools. Those should help do the trick.
The folks at Sumo Lounge have been longtime partners of this site, providing many staff members over the years a chance to try out their premium line of bean bag chairs. These aren't the kind of "beans" you'll find at your local Target, instead they are built with quality furniture foam like that found in your living room couches. Because of this the chair will last for years and rarely loose it's fill, meaning your backside can be parked in them for those long gaming sessions.
Summer isn't too far away, so naturally, the Co-Opticrew is taking an early opportunity for fun in the sand, waves, and su-... wait. Sorry, it looks like someone got my copy wrong. This says "breach"? How... how would you even have fun at a breach? Are there games you can play, like breach games? Do you lay out and absorb whatever comes through said breach?
We meet again, dear readers. Another Friday afternoon is upon us, shimmering with opportunity. And just what will we be doing with our near-limitless options for fun and relaxation, you ask? Well... to be honest, there's going to be quite a bit of management going on, in both the micro and macro senses. It seems we can't quite handle being fully untethered from our day jobs.
Some of the Co-Opticrew (everyone that isn't me) seem to be chugging along quite nicely in their Monster Hunter: World experience, while others (literally just me) can't seem to handle a certain fire-breathing dinosaur who is very much a trash creature with no redeeming qualities. Either way, most of our plans revolve around exploring and surviving the "New World".
