Quantic Dream drew much attention three years ago with their critically acclaimed drama/adventure game, Heavy Rain. As such, it should come as no surprise that their latest game, Beyond: Two Souls was greatly anticipated. Does it hold up to the hype? Let’s find out....
If you’re a David Cage fan then the moment you’ve been waiting for is finally here. Beyond: Two Souls has hit the shelves and is accompanied by an appropriately dramatic and enticing launch trailer. The trailer offers little in terms of new developments, opening with Jodie joining the CIA’s military school and offering a glimpse into her training, a familiar seen that has been in most of the game's marketing thus far.
After a few quiet weeks we've got a handful of co-op titles to try. Sadly the "big" games aren't your traditional games with co-op campaigns, but rather "alternative" forms of co-op. I guess you take whatever you can - even when it's a game about passing gas.
Players who pre order Beyond: Two Souls from Gamestop will be upgraded to the exclusive Special Edition free of charge. Standard with the Special Edition are the typical physical items and soundtrack, but players will also be able to enjoy some exclusive playable content.
Shaping up to be one of PlayStation 3’s last great masterpieces, Beyond: Two Souls will release in October of this year. For those who can’t wait, the full 30 minute demo has been posted online. Currently the demo is only available to those who pre-ordered the game from GameStop or GAME, as well as anyone who managed to grab a code from GameStop via Facebook.
Last week at Gamescom 2013, David Cage (the creator of Beyond: Two Souls) announced that the game will have 2-player co-op via a special system dubbed "Dual Mode."
