Wait right here, Ned's finishing up, he'll be right with you
We seem to really enjoy our Borderlands. Many of us have already finished the campaign and are leveling up their second and third characters. There's good news for those that wanted more; a new island will be available for download after November 24th. The DLC pack is called "Zombie Island of Dr. Ned" and will give players an additional 6-10 hours of gameplay time to complete the story here. IGN has stated that there are about "50 quests, and 5 new dungeons" on this new island, with a plethora of zombies accidentally created by a wacky Dr. Ned.

AI War, the co-op RTS/4x title from Arcen Games, LLC, has been out for some time now, but the game is about to hit a major milestone this Wednesday. Not only will the game hit version 2.0, which will include new features and a few bug fixes, but it will also be available on Steam with 129 Steam achievements and online leaderboards. We chatted with Christopher Park, CEO, Lead Programmer, and Lead Designer for Arcen, about this unique co-op game, how the taking on the AI with a group can be more satisfying than going alone, and the power of co-op gaming.

Diablo 3 is coming, and we're all dressed for the prom. We've got the brutish Barbarians with their beautiful Wizard cohorts. Now, we just need our support characters. In a recent interview with Blizzard Lead Designer Jay Wilson, the Monk class is delved in to a bit - and could fill that co-op strategy "support" role nicely. Diii.net asks the big questions, and we love the big answers.

Depths of Peril - Din's Curse doesn't exactly have screen shots yet.
Din, champion of the Gods, is not pleased with you one bit. You were not very nice in your life, and have now been cursed to live out a second life chock full of redemption. You're charged with being a savior of mankind, and will roam the plains of Western Aleria until Din is satisfied with you. It's not all dark and dreary though, as Din's Curse will give you a dynamically changing world to Action/RPG in with unique quests, different townspeople, and new locations every time you start a new game.
Gameboomers.com has interviewed Steven Peeler, creator of Soldak Entertainment who are responsible for the development of the Co-op Action/RPG Din's Curse. We wanted to know what this game has that other Action/RPG's don't, so we're sharing what we've learned.

We were fortunate enough to get a few questions through to Joe Khourry, Producer of the PlayStation Portable version of Army of Two: The 40th Day. After our PAX interview, we realized that very little has been shown of the portable version, which will include co-op; in fact, much of the console version is being carried over in what we hope will be a fluid co-op shooter on the go.
Also: we made sure to ask about the dead hippos, which you read here at Co-Optimus first. (Remember that.)

In our first interview with Matt Turner, producer for Army of Two: The 40th Day, we covered why he chooses co-op, what’s changed for The 40th Day, and what “organic co-op” means. In the second part of the interview, we dive a little deeper into the game’s morality system, discuss how the enemies are getting into the co-op spirit, and discover how gun customization can be a co-op activity. Check it out after the break!

If you happened to catch our first interview with the good folks from Telltale Games, you'll likely remember that we had the opportunity to do two separate interviews with two different groups of folks from the development company that's leading the revitalization of adventure gaming. In our second interview, we sat down with Mark Darin, Designer/Programmer at Telltale Games and the director for Tales of Monkey Island Episode 2: The Siege of Spinner Cay, to talk about what influenced the making of the Tales of Monkey Island series, as well as how you can find co-op in the least likely of places.

Not Dr. Greg Zeschuk
Our first audio interview with Bioware was with the lead writer for Mass Effect 2, but Bioware has another game coming out before it this fall that arguably has the potential to be bigger, it's called Dragon Age Origins. Claimed to be a return to the roots of Bioware's Baldur's Gate series, Dragon Age Origins has that classic RPG feel in a fantasy world.
We went hands on with the game back in February, but according to Dr. Zeschuk it's come a LONG way since then. We chatted with Bioware's co-president at PAX about the game's design, standout features, a beautiful tunnel and of course - the lack of co-op.

Our friends over at Colony of Gamers managed to steal Brink's Lead Designer, Richard Ham, for some candid questions about the upcoming 8 player co-op title. Richard was deeply involved with Fable 2 while at Lionhead, which are always responsible for a deep gameplay experience.
They CoG Boys chat about the lack of female characters, working with a smaller studio and the type of gameplay experience you can expect from Brink. With this and Borderlands there are some really solid Action/RPG Co-Op games coming soon.

Dave Grossman, Dominic Armato, and Chris Schmidt
While at PAX, we had a chance to sit down not once, but TWICE with a few folks from Telltale Games to talk about their recent episodic release, Tales of Monkey Island, the lessons they've learned from previous releases, and what are some of their favorite co-op titles. In the first interview we were joined by Dave Grossman, Design Director for Telltale; Dominic Armato, voice of "Guybrush Threepwood"; and Chris Schmidt, PR Manager. All of them love playing and talking about games so much, we didn't want to leave anything out. So we've included the complete audio from the interview, as well as pictures taken by Rob "mightbe" Schuster during the interview, after the break.
