Jagged Alliance is back, the first game since the poorly received Kickstarted Jagged Alliance: Flashback, Jagged Alliance: Rage is a new title being published by THQ Nordic and developed by HandyGames.
Jagged Alliance: Rage is set twenty years after the first game of the series, following the same set of mercenaries of Ivan Dolvich, Helmut "Grunty" Grunther, Kyle "Shadow" Simmons as they are once again stranded behind enemy lines on a remote island. The game's hook appears to be unreliable equipment. What?
In Jagged Alliance: Rage! you are constantly on the brink of breakdown. Badly equipped and outnumbered, it's up to the player to lead their seasoned mercenaries in tactical turn-based missions and to light the spark of a revolution.
Has the potential to be interesting for sure. There's also the "Rage" system which are unique character abilities, I'm guessing, after they get pissed off when their gun breaks.
But what sets this apart from some of the other Jagged Alliance titles is the ability to play online with a friend in two player co-op. Hopefully the series' focus on tongue in cheek humor, story, and strong tactics remains.
There's a short teaser which shows the game's slightly stylized graphics.
Jagged Alliance: Rage will be out sometime in 2019 on XBox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. It'll feature two player online co-op.
