The Sega Genesis Mini 2 and the Japanese model, the Sega Mega Drive Mini 2, launched a few weeks ago. Sega's latest mini console features more than 50 games, including several never-before-released bonus games. The Japanese console includes a slightly different lineup of games and a smaller controller. Sega also sells a mini Mega CD 2/Sega CD 2 for cosmetic use with the original or second Genesis Mini. The Sega Genesis Mini 2 is available to order exclusively from Amazon, but there's a catch. This time, the American version of the console ships directly from Japan, adding to the shipping charge. The total shipped price for US customers is $123. That might sound like a bit much, but it's still only about $2 per game!
The Japanese Mega Drive Mini 2 is currently sold out at Amazon.jp. The Mega CD Mini 2 cosmetic accessory is also sold out at Amazon.jp at the time of this writing. We hope they will be restocked in the future, but you can always try other import shops like Play-Asia and Nin-Nin Game.
