Way back in 2015, a man named David Sandberg produced and starred in a short martial arts comedy called Kung Fury. You can watch it free on YouTube and Steam! Swedish developer Hello There Games quickly released Kung Fury: Street Rage on PC, a simple beat 'em up based on the movie. The game received a handful of DLCs over the years before its developer temporarily removed it from Steam (much like SWORDS of GARGANTUA). Now it's back on Steam AND consoles as as Kung Fury: Street Rage - Ultimate Edition, complete with 2-player local co-op!
Kung Fury: Street Rage - Ultimate Edition offers several distinct modes, including the original single-player campaign, an additional solo mode called "The Arcade Strikes Back," a practice mode, and the co-op "A Day at the Beach" mode.
The co-op mode allows 1-2 local players to select from five characters: Kung Fury, Hacker Man (a robot), Barbarianna, Triceracop, and David Hasselhoff. The story begins with the team's time-traveling car breaking down in a city. From there, our heroes will beat up a whole lot of Nazis as they travel across a world map and five distinct time periods.
Combat has been streamlined to make for a fast and easy-to-play experience. Players can attack and shove enemies at any time. By defeating enough enemies, you'll charge up your special move and start to glow. Special moves deals area-of-effect damage to the team's hapless foes. That's it for mechanics; Kung Fury doesn't have jumping or any advanced techniques. The game's charming retro style and sense of humor are its primary appeal, but the simple mechanics also make it great for less experienced gamers.

Kung Fury: Street Rage - Ultimate Edition costs $19.99 on Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam. The Switch version is coming soon. Limited Run Games will also produce a physical version.
Owners of the original Steam version have been automatically upgraded to the Ultimate Edition! Oh, and the original version of Kung Fury: Street Rage is available as a $3 DLC for Arcade Paradise, the arcade simulation/minigame collection from Wired Productions.
