Secret Armory of General Knoxx Still Being Released Today

The Internet giveth, and the Internet taketh away... or does it?  Those of you who have been patiently waiting for the Secret Armory of General Knoxx, the latest DLC for everyone's favorite co-op loot-gathering title Borderlands, to show up on your 360 may have seen a couple of news posts stating that it's been delayed by a day.  While it's easy to get swept up in these kinds of posts, we decided to reach out to a PR representative from Gearbox to see if they could confirm, one way or the other, General Knoxx's official release date.  It was a good thing we did, as the official word is as follows: "As of now I am issuing an official press release with today's launch date."

So there you have it.  According to the representative we talked with, the Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC is still set to hit the 360 today at some point.  But why all the confusion?  Well, part of it seems to have stemmed from the General Knoxx Twitter account, which posted yesterday, "well, time tables got all moved around. looks like the invasion is on tomorrow. be seeing you (and killing you!) then."  Many of us took this to mean it would be available today, but with so many gamers worldwide, exactly which tomorrow that Tweet is referring to may not be so clear.  VG247.com, a UK-based gaming blog, picked up on this message and one from an XBox Europe community manager that echoed the statement of the DLC being released tomorrow.  That bit of Twitterage, plus this confusing XBox LIVE Marketplace page for the game stating the game's release date as 1/1/0001, and it's easy to say why other gaming news outlets picked up on the story and there was a rash outbreak of posts stating the release date would be Wednesday, Feb. 24, not Tuesday, Feb. 23.

At any rate, I know where I'll be for the next few hours: sitting in front of my 360 checking the Borderlands DLC page until I finally see General Knoxx pop up in all his mech suit glory.

While you wait you can see what changes to the game have been made in the already available 1.30 title update:
