New in Download/DLC:
About A Blob is making news waves on the PSN - showing off some pretty shiny co-op if we do say so ourselves. The developer is taking advantage of SCEA’s publisher funds, which allow publishers more monetary freedoms in their games so they’re not restricted down the road. We’re cheering for About A Blob because really, it looks like good old-fashioned fun.
Just in time for Halloween, Left 4 Dead 2 is getting another dash of DLC with “The Sacrifice.” This DLC will feature the original survivors in a bit of a prequel to what happens before The Passing DLC. We miss those guys. Especially Bill. Poor Bill.
Finally for this episode of On The Download, Scott Pilgrim has received a co-op friendly patch allowing for drop-in/drop-out support. Now you can play the 8-bit style beat-em-up against the 7 evil exes with a buddy, who can then leave and be replaced by another buddy - or however you want that drop-in/drop-out to work for you.
Free for You:
This episodes “free for you” will give us a taste of what us console gamers are missing when Valve gives the fan-service. That’s right, all of the DLC I’ve ever heard of for a game published by Valve (including our precious Left 4 Dead’s with tasty co-op) is entirely free of charge on PC. You can also mod games, play other peoples mods, and just generally enjoy old-fashioned style PC gaming to the max.
So yes, PC gamers rejoice, you have loads of free DLC to enjoy for the holidays.
