Fable 2 Missing Online Co-Op At Launch

In what appears to be another stab to the heart and a growing trend in console games, the Gamerscore Blog has announced that Fable 2 will be without online co-op from day 1.  According to Lionhead the online component wasn't quite ready to go at launch, but the plans are to have a patch out "within the first week of launch."  If you remember, Fable 2 was promised to have a unique co-op mode in which players would see floating orbs representing their friends in the game world.  To start a co-op session they'd simply need to walk up to the orb to send the invite or join their world.

Sacred 2 Rockin the House

Sacred 2:  Fallen Angel hits the PC next week complete with 16 player co-op!  To celebrate the folks at CDV have teamed up with German metal group Blind Guardian to create an in engine/CGI music video.  What ensues is a rockin good time.  I wonder, can we hold concerts for our friends in the final build of the game?

The G3 Tour Gives Gamers a Chance to Play Gears of War 2 Early

Gears of War 2 really needs no introduction. The original Gears was a megaton bomb, so multiply that by two (million) for the sequel. Likely, if you are a Gears fan, you cannot wait to play Gears 2. Fortunately, you just might get a chance to play the game early. According to the Gamerscore blog, Best Buy is sponsoring the Best Buy G3 Tour (the three "Gs" are Games, Gear and Gadgets, FYI), which will go on a six week tour of twenty colleges. The tour will be open to the public and will feature a variety of games to play. The games featured include co-op friendly games like Saints Row 2, Rock Band 2, and Halo 3, as well as Gears of War 2.

Gears of War Behind the Scenes Videos and Statues

The above image is a picture of a 12" Marcus Phoenix statue that is now available for purchase on sites like Amazon.com.   Collectible site Figures.com has a review of the statue including detailed photos as well as an interview with Karen Traviss, the writer of the Gears of War prequel book "Aspho Fields".  And while you can't exactly co-op with an collectible figure, this one is so awesome you'll wish you could.

Bungie "Keep it Clean" Trailer - Prepare to Drop for Halo 3

Remain calm folks.  But in a mere hour and 15 minutes at the time of this post Bungie is going to unveil something.  Well, at least we think they'll unveil something.  They could just be unveiling the announcement of an unveiling of something.  You never know these days in PR.

This Week in Co-Op: Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2 (again)

I have stated many times my love of Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2. It's a great game for both single player and cooperative experiences. Indeed, I've had Geometry Wars RE 2 as my co-op game of the week once before. However, until recently, I've not dumped a large amount of time into the game. I've played it for small bursts, but not really enough to truly appreciate it. Well fortunately I had a dull week and a roommate willing to try some Geometry Wars.
