Co-op gamers really enjoy Little Big Planet - slapping friends, building levels, and getting additional unlockables in co-op specific areas. Little Big Planet has since gone portable, and we've taken a look at about 2 minutes of PSP play time. While carrying over the things that made Little Big Planet wonderful, the portable version seems to be lacking a few of the key control components. You're still able to build levels through co-op, and play together - which are both important aspects that make Little Big Planet what it is.

UFO Interactive has announced a limited edition of Raiden IV today.  There's actually two versions of the limited edition - one exclusive to Gamestop.

Next week Epic Games will be releasing a few pieces of Gears of War 2 content.  Included in with a package of multiplayer maps called Dark Corners, Road to Ruin is a brand new single player chapter that was cut from the original game.  What makes the content unique is the fact that there's two different ways to play through it.

Microsoft's next big dashboard update is set to go live in just a few weeks, August 11th to be exact.  The update is going to add a host of features to the dashboard including performance improvements, sorting options and other goodies.

The original Serious Sam is a really good co-op title, and we are quite fond of it.  When the HD remake of the game was announced, there was much hooping and hollering here at Co-Optimus HQ.  Serious Sam 3 is currently in development, and considering the winning combination of humor, over the top carnage, and a unique art style in previous games, we've been keeping a close eye on it.

Everyone's favorite phalic shaped head Marvel character is on display in full 3d glory in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.  The Gamestop exclusive character will be playable in the game's co-op mode, but if you aren't going to pre-order from there, well it looks like you are out of luck.

Tecmo has released some brand new screenshots for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2's two player co-op mode.  

Microsoft has just received a patent for an interesting feature in squad based co-op shooters.  US Patent #7559834 was filed back in 2002, but only just got approved by the United States Patent Office.  From the description, timing and pictures - it appears to be for the 4 player co-op game Brute Force from the original Xbox.  

`Splosion Man is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, July 22nd with it's furious and gaseous four player cooperative gameplay. For 800 you'll get 50 multiplayer levels to play with your friends on top of the game's single player mode. What's more the game supports unlockable Avatar items, free premium themes and more just by blowing stuff up. How awesome is that?

Many gamers have wondered why Red Faction: Guerrilla was lacking any kind of co-op, myself included. The setting felt perfect for sitting in with a buddy to destroy as many things as possible. Even the developers looked at it from that angle, and gave it the old college try. Unfortunately, in spite of having some wonderful DLC, Red Faction still won't see any co-op action. Volition games Associate Producer Sean Kennedy explains how technical limitations presented a challenge for the game itself, nixing co-op.  

Joystiq reported Thursday that in answer to the popularity of LittleBigPlanet's user-created levels that could be constructed in co-op, a similar mode will be featured in LEGO Indiana Jones: The Adventure Continues.
