The day Resident Evil 5 was announced to have a co-op campaign we were simply elated with joy. Fans of the series though, well they weren't quite sure about the decision to take a lone survival horror game and add a buddy system. Tomorrow, Friday the 13th, all of our questions are answered as Resident Evil 5 is finally released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The game supports two player drop-in and drop-out co-op via Internet or System Link play. Players will work together as they make their way through various African locales uncovering the mystery of a deadly virus that plagues the local people.
Having played the final build over the past couple of days, I have to say I'm really impressed with what Capcom has done. The co-op doesn't feel forced at all, and the puzzles players need to solve together are pretty exciting. We should have our full co-op review of the game in the next day or so, so be sure to check it out. In the meantime you can read our interview with Capcom concerning the game.
And remember, ordering the game through our Amazon links helps support the site!
