Gold Edition plus All DLC Available On Demand

PlayStation Network Getting Resident Evil 5 Complete Package Next Week

This two-player, local and online co-op game just doesn't seem to stay down for long: starting October 4th (next Tuesday), the Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition will appear on the PlayStation Network as an on-demand title. I can't see this really being top news, though, because everyone has played and loved this game by now. Right? Anyone?

Capcom Looking to Increase Resident Evil Production

Let's face it, a lot has happened between the years of great Resident Evil titles. From the change of scenery from the Mansion and Racoon City to the far reaches of Spain and Africa, to the inclusion of co-op in on rails shooter The Umbrella Chronicles and Resident Evil 5. It now looks like Capcom wants to speed up the growth a bit by releasing a new Resident Evil game every 2 years or so, instead of approximately every 4 years.

Resident Evil 5 DLC "Desperate Escape" Available Now, Gold Edition Next Week

Round two of the Resident Evil 5 DLC has been released today. This chapter of the Resident Evil 5 addition takes you through Jills survival after Chris rescues her from the clutches of Wesker in the main storyline. You'll play as Jill and Josh to see exactly how Josh assists in her continuation of the storyline and it's bound to be a tense time. The DLC is titled "Desperate Escape," and is available on Xbox LIVE for 400 or the PSN for $5. This pack will also include additional characters and outfits for Mercenaries mode, which is also delectably co-op.

Resident Evil 5 Added to Games on Demand, Lost In Nightmares DLC Out Today

Just in time for the release of the first of two new DLC packs, Resident Evil 5 joins the list of great co-op titles (one of which is slated for tomorrow's XBox LIVE Co-Op Night) available through XBox LIVE's Games on Demand service.  Now, I'm sure the question many of you are asking is, "Shouldn't I just wait and buy the Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition that's set to be released in three weeks' time?"  Well, if you crunch the numbers on all of it, snagging the Games on Demand version of Resident Evil 5 ($29.99) and all of the DLC as it becomes available, which in total will come to 1520 , will set you back about $48.98.  That's just a couple dollars more than the current pre-order price for the Gold Edition on Amazon of $46.99.  To put it another way, picking up the game and the "Lost in Nightmares" DLC now gets you an additional three weeks to enjoy the new Jill and Chris chapter, as well as zombie slaying with Excella and Barry Burton in Mercenaries mode, and an additional week with the "Desperate Escape" DLC, all for just $2 more.

Resident Evil 5: Gold Lost In Nightmares Explored

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition is giving us some pretty snazzy content to go with it. Where did all this content come from merely a year after the full games release? Well, the games director has a bit to say about the "Lost in Nightmares" chapter. "Lost in Nightmares" is the content that fills in the story when Chris and Jill confront Wesker in the mansion. The Directors Blog has some details about where this "deleted scene" came from, and how they fit it in with the Gold content.
