Unless someone at Capcom has gone completely batty, Playstation 3 owners can expect the four-player co-op shooter Lost Planet 2 to arrive sometime after the Xbox 360 release. This has been confirmed via Sony's E3 keynote, and now by Capcom's official site.

While details are scarce at the moment, we're still excited that Capcom is making sure to extend co-op goodness to both platforms. Although we've established the Xbox 360 as 2008's most co-op friendly platform, the co-op love is being spread around the table, and that's always a good thing.

The Xbox 360 deserves that distinction, for now. Left 4 Dead easily made the console worth its trials and tribulations, and L4D2 will easily breathe new life into the party. Further enshrining the Xbox 360's status, if a co-op game does happen to appear on the PS3, it's most likely not an exclusive.

I hope the PS3 get's more love in the future, particularly for split-screen co-op.

The new clip on game trailers looks pretty awesome for co-op: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/16/point ... p-footage/

At least its just time exclusive. I hate this full exclusive stuff when it looks like there isn't a reason for it. I hope this game has system link as it will mean I get to put 3 of my 360s to use a couple nights a week.

@Lun4tic

The PS3 actually has a lot of cop-op games that are exclusives, and more are coming -- The Resistance games, Fat Princess, Demon's Souls, DC Universe Online, and more. The 360 is indeed better for co-op overall, though.

As for the article, I loved the first Lost Planet, and I'm extremely excited for this one.
