I thought it might have been Left 4 Dead 3, but alas it was not. Instead I'm almost equally as excited to see a brand new FPS from developer Saber Interactive (TimeShift, Inversion) set in the World War Z universe.
Dauntless is an online co-op action RPG where up to 4 players work together to hunt down ferocious beasts called Behemoths. It sounds a lot like Monster Hunter, and with talent from Bio-Ware, Riot, Capcom, and Blizzard feeding into new developer Phoenix Labs, there's a lot of potential.
I'm a fan of action-oriented tower defense titles. The amount of time I spent playing Sol Survivor was far greater than I could have anticipated. Thus, I am both interested in and hesitant of Shoor Games' new title, My Tower, My Home. Combining the hectic energy of a platform shooter with the chaotic scrambling that happens in those later waves of a tower defense seems like a mighty powerful drug.
A new competitor for the title of "best zombie killing co-op game" has entered the fray, Kingdom Wars 2: Battles. The title, which recently left Early Access, focuses on the more strategic elements of battling the undead menace.
The folks from Perfect World Entertainment have put out a trailer for their three player co-op shooter called Livelock. The trailer focuses on a new character reveal, a machine and human hybrid called Vanguard. In it, we hear some deep philosophical ramblings...all while there's tons of on screen destruction.
FromSoftware and Namco Bandai have released the latest batch of screens/art for Dark Souls 3, and they're all looking good. I'm getting pretty excited for all of this winter to go away and spring to get here already so I can dive into this game and get mercilessly killed over and over. I really mean that.
Last summer we got news that Space Hulk: Deathwing - an FPS set in the Warhammer 40k universe where players control a squad of Terminators to clear out a ship of Tyranids - would be getting four player co-op. Since then, things have gone quiet about the title, regrettably, and the only new info we've gotten have been some new screens showing off just how immense this Space Hulk ship really is.
Sure, videos are cool and all. But something can be said for a carefully created screenshot. Getting the enemy positioning just right, the lens flare just glinting off the hood of a vehicle, or the explosion just as it happens. Like a good photograph, capturing that moment in time for a screenshot isn't always as easy as pressing a button.
Sword Coast Legends saw a recent delay, but those that pre-ordered the upcoming D&D RPG will be able to obtain early access on the PC. Starting September 11th those who ordered via Steam and the Official website should be able to dig into the game with access to multiplayer content and a few of the built in tools with the single player access coming towards the end.
It makes me happy to relay that we've received confirmation on the last couple of toy lines coming to the upcoming Toy Soldiers title, Toy Soldier: War Chest. What two properties could possibly contest the epicness that is G.I. Joe and He-Man? Well, two equally epic characters of course!
Every year now, with the release of a Call of Duty game, we get a brand new take on the zombies mode. Each one seems more elaborate than the last and each time I say to myself - why is this not sold as a stand alone game? This year's Call of Duty is no exception, with Black Ops 3 getting a full zombies mode set in the 1940s fim-noir era with characters voiced and likeness of Jeff Goldblum, Heather Graham, Neal McDonough, Ron Perlman and Robert Picardo.
Normally, only single player titles that make up The Legend of Zelda franchise, with some including a few co-op features, such as Four Swords Adventures for Gamecube. Luckily, we finally are getting a new Zelda title called The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes!
Evolve's Hunter and Monster character roster continues to evolve far into the future! 2K and Turtle Rock Studios announced their upcoming new playable characters, as well as some info on their soon to be released character, Lennox.
