Operation Flashpoint 2 Skirmish Mode DLC Announced, Title Update TooNovember 04th, 2009 at 12:50 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Codemasters has made good on their promise, and officially announced the first content pack for Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising.   The pack is called the Skirmish pack and features two new cooperative missions for four players as well as four new maps for competitive play.  There's also a new sandbox mode called Island Tour which can be played cooperatively.

The new co-op maps are called All Round Defence, which looks to be a survival mode type map with support and attack helicopters as players defend a fortified complex against waves of PLA; and Uphill Struggle has players trying to capture a bunker under heavy fire from hillside reinforcements.

Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond has Girly Pirates, Co-Op ActionNovember 03rd, 2009 at 8:39 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Some more details are trickling in of Vicious Cycle's upcoming side scroller called Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond.  The tongue-in-cheek game will support two player local co-op on both the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.  Players assume the role of either Matt Hazard or his sidekick Dexter Dare as they work through familiar looking video game scenarios like Bioshock, Mirror's Edge and Mario Bros.

The game contains an insanely wacky plot that involves programmers, old video games and transgender pirates.  But really the gamme is all about blowing the crap out of everything that moves in a style that's similar to the Contra, but plays a bit more like the recent Shadow Complex.

Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising - 20 New Screenshots and a TrailerNovember 02nd, 2009 at 2:43 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

This is madness!  THIS IS CHAOS RISING!

We just received a fresh batch of screenshots for the upcoming Dawn of War 2 expansion: Chaos Rising.  In it we see the demons from beneath planet Aurelia slaughtering our poor Space Marines in epic combat.

But screenshots are so 1990's.  Feast your eyes then on the bloody trailer for the expansion, and then cry to the heavens as you can't play this right now.  Just don't yell too loud, or one of those demons riding another demon might come and get you.

Perfect Dark, Pretty ScreensOctober 23rd, 2009 at 1:18 PM by Katrina "ShadokatRegn" Pawlowski

We haven't gotten a whole lot of new information about Perfect Dark on the Xbox LIVE Arcade, but we did get some pretty nice screens. It definitely looks to be shaping up to be a solid remake - cleaned up visuals, co-op, and that good old fashioned N64 feeling.

Modern Warfare 2 Offers Split Difficulty for Co-Op, New Screens and System RequirementsOctober 23rd, 2009 at 8:29 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Like Gears of War 2 and HAWX before it, Modern Warfare 2 will allow players to each choose their own respective difficulty in the game's co-op mode.  Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling announced the feature via his Twitter account.

"Awesome #MW2 feature I've fallen in love with while on tour," said Bowling,  "[The] ability to play on a different difficulty than your coop partner in SpecOps."  This should be good news for co-op players as it allows a lot of flexibility when looking for partners to play with.

Command and Conquer 4 Junktown Screens, More Shiny than JunkyOctober 13th, 2009 at 11:48 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

EA has just released a fresh batch of screenshots for the upcoming Command and Conquer sequel title Tiberian Twilight.  Command and Conquer 4 will be a co-op experience for two players, and from what we've heard, it sounds like a lot of time and care went into designing it for cooperative play.  Careful unit balancing and class specialization along with RPG elements all hint at a much deeper RTS experience.

The latest screens show off the new mobile base, and plenty of lasers.  Mmmmm...lasers.  It sure is looks pretty, lets hope it plays just as good.

GTA: Chinatown Wars PSP Screens and Trailer Looking SlickOctober 08th, 2009 at 7:34 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

We posted some fairly favorable impressions of Chinatown Wars for the PSP back during PAX.  We were surprised at just how well the game cleaned up in terms of visuals, and we were impressed with how well it controlled despite the lack of touch screen input.

While there's still only one small two player co-op survival mode, the game overall is a great experience that shouldn't be missed.  We've got the a fresh batch of screens and a trailer show the game off, which hits store shelves on October 20th.

Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising First Screenshots and TrailerSeptember 29th, 2009 at 9:10 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

If you've visited the official Dawn of War 2 website in the past few days, you may have noticed a fresh facelift.  Hot on the heels of the Chaos Rising expansion announcement is a redesign that reflects the upcoming co-op expansion to Dawn of War 2.

It appears that snow and ice are going to play a big part in the game, as the website and accompanying screenshots show plenty of the white powder - and I don't mean Ork crack.  THQ has also released a 30 second teaser trailer for the game, though there's little to no gameplay available.

We're still waiting on official word of a release date, as of now we'd pin it in February or March, despite the lack of retail listings.  If all this Dawn of War 2 media gets you in the mood to play, you only have a two more weeks to wait for the upcoming Last Stand content pack.

Tekken 6 Co-Op Campaign Screens Pour on the StorySeptember 25th, 2009 at 8:48 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

We know Tekken 6 was getting a 2 player co-op beat em up mode that can be played online, but what we didn't know is that there'd actually be a story involved with cut scenes and more.  The latest screenshots from the game show off some of this as well as a few action scenarios.

Anybody wanna take a guess as to what the story might entail?  My money is on a quest to get some more gel to help Heiachi's crazy hair.
