Co-Op Release Alert: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

We've got our first big co-op release of the fall season today with Activision's Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. The four player co-op brawler/RPG has players choosing from over 25 characters and teaming up to combine powers in a story set in the Civil War story arc.

The game has online and offline co-op for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and local co-op for the rest of the platforms including the Wii, PS2, PSP and DS. There are certain characters that are exclusive to certain versions of the game, and we have the full list laid out for you.

List of playable characters in alphabetical order:

After playing for a couple of hours I would say there is plenty to like about it but there seems to be something missing, besides the fact that they didn't put system link in only live support the screen is too small to play the game with more than one player on anything smaller than a 46' tv. Would have been nice to system link it with 2 25's since you can get a closer view.

Looks like it allows 4 player now but the screen has so much going on it's hard to tell what actually is going on.

The real winner is the cut scenes and the story which opens options and the ability to play different sides(sorta) of the marvel universe.

Psyclops and I played for a bit today. The online, at least on the PS3, was extremely laggy, which was sad.

The single player was freakin awesome though. This game definitely blows the first one away.

It may not be the ps3. I noticed that youtube (the biggest bandwidth sucker EVER) was on my comp. So I turned it off and that seemed to help =">
