Are you getting tired of playing 6 hour shallow games? Splash Damage hears you on that, and promises that Brink will be a truly massive game. The single player experience will keep you busy for quite some time with intense story, character animations that promise to deliver that human feel to the game, and of course co-op with incentives for playing together. Splash Damage's CEO Paul Wedgewood had this to say on the game.
"This is a game that has been built from the outset as a heavily narrative-driven story by full-time writers. We’re making use of techniques like performance capturing - so we get really good physical performances from actors along with their facial expressions and voices and their interaction with other actors - to build a game that has a really strong narrative component that isn’t just a highly replayable shooter."
On top of the massive single player campaign, Wedgewood told Joystiq that they were pushing to change peoples minds about co-op.
"At a certain point in the game we say to them, 'Why don't you just try co-op and see how you go? For this next mission we're going to give you twice the number of experience points if you play co-operatively with somebody else.'"
Not that we need any encouraging here, but it's nice to see a developer really pushing for their co-op to be used without punishing the single player gamer in the process. Check out this video from G4 TV taking a quick look at just how massive this game really is.

I have never heard of this game before joining this site. But after seeing that video with the possiblility to create your own character, as well as a massive co-op world? Yes please! I -totally- wanna make some B.A. looking SWAT guy who sneaks around.
I think this game just because the next game to keep my eye on.
he's talking about the demo he saw at PAX i believe.
Yes, you can create a character to use in co-op and in multiplayer versus.
Awesome. Count me in for becoming excited, then, after skimming the older articles as well. The array of characters they showed at the piqued my curiosity on it, though that's not to say the other stuff from the article and video didn't as well.
Totally gonna make a skinny little SWAT-looking guy if I can. That would be so sweet to play as. Run around, bein' sneaky, and then flank some dudes with a shotgun or something.
They only talk about missions, which make me feel this may be a level-based game. Or at least a linear progression.
Eight player drop-in/drop-out. Oh, yeah.
Yes, it does!
Well then! Its settled!
GAME OF THE YEAR 2010!!
Also, the bit in the vid where he turns round and all the guys are there gave me a bit of a shock. Given that I skipped borderlands, I might get this on the day.
Oh, and if the game offers me stuff for playing online, I'm going to use cheats (if I can) to get whatever reward it was offering.
Lastly, does the vs mode have bots?
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
Yeah, they explained in the video. They said it was hard to differ a real player from a bot. That sounds awesome.
