First Lord of the Rings: War in the North In Game Screens Arrive

After several pre-rendered teaser trailers, it appears we're finally getting our first look at Lord of the Rings: War in the North and its 3 player co-op action.  The only surprise here is that the camera appears to be from a more on the ground perspective, instead of an isometric top down look.  Not necessarily a bad thing, just not what we expected from developer Snowblind.

There's a dozen or so screens from Gamescom here - and we gotta say  - the vistas look particularly impressive.  Lets just hope there's more variety than what we are seeing in this one area.

If you search YouTube you can find some off-screen footage from E3. I was NOT impressed by anything I saw. I'll reserve judgment for now, as I know that this is all in the early stages.

is split screen confirmed? those angles would make a shared screen experience worse than fable 2.

i hope you're wrong jim, i really want a good couch co-op LOTRO RPG.

For the record, it looked more like a hack'n'slash with some time-based RPG elements. Kind of like Monster Hunter.

Those colors are pretty bad - everything is brown. The leaves on the tree even look like they are dead.

I think two player split screen is confirmed in this article

Sounds and looks good to me. Looking forward to some more information. Great game concepts have proven to be pretty lousy game play so we shall see.

I am also taken aback by the non-overhead view. However, those images look pretty nice so far. Now what I wonder is this...are there only three characters to choose from (kind of like how Demon Forge only has the two) or will there be different classes for extreme character customize. For example, will three buddies be able to control a party of all warrior dwarves, or will there always be one human (presumably a Ranger/Dunedain), dwarf, and elf?
