Gears of War Behind the Scenes Videos and Statues

Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo September 25th, 2008 at 1:05 PM

The above image is a picture of a 12" Marcus Phoenix statue that is now available for purchase on sites like Amazon.com.   Collectible site Figures.com has a review of the statue including detailed photos as well as an interview with Karen Traviss, the writer of the Gears of War prequel book "Aspho Fields".  And while you can't exactly co-op with an collectible figure, this one is so awesome you'll wish you could.

Also in Gears of War 2 news is three brand new video documentaries on the making of the game.  Entitled Touch the Sound, Every Gun has a Story, and Delta Blue - each one takes a look at some behind the scenes footage of the game and its developers.   In Touch the Sound you'll hear just how Epic came up with the "meaty" sound for the game.  In Every Gun has a Story you'll learn how to "reach out and touch someone...with a flamethrower."   And finally Delta Blues examines each character and what makes them tick.

All videos are available via direct download here, or are available streaming after the "Read More" link.  We also have some hot pictures of the 12" Statue!

I'll definitely be checking out the prequel novel, Karen Traviss does some great work (and I haven't even read her Star Wars stuff).

Check those out. They are great novels, and not the fact that they are probably better than the prequel trilogy. From a friend in the military, he said that the military aspects were pretty accurate.
There is the Republic Commando trilogy, and then there is the standalone The Clone Wars book about the clones. She's also part of the three writers that are writing the new book series after the New Jedi Order (haven't read those yet, but I hear her novels focus more on the combat of the war that's going on).

Oh snap, the next Republic Commando book is Order 66. That should be interesting to read. And I really want to read the rest of her books.
Sorry for the thread derail, but I really like those books.

I'm interested in some co-op gaming, but so far I've only played it on normal and have not managed to finish any campaign online
Sorry to hear that, at least you won't have to pay for another one.

This site is so awesome. Im glad to be able to help reach that 2500 goal! I will definitely be telling friends about it.
More games should definitely incorporate co-op. Its not always enough to run around and shoot up teams or compete in a free-for-

How is the replay value of it?
Has anyone played this game yet? I played the demo, and it reminded me somewhat of "Zombies Ate My Neighbors" from the Genesis b
