Call of Duty: World at War Now Featuring Co-Op Nazi Zombie Slaying Mode

If Call of Duty: World at War's 4 player co-op campaign mode didn't interest you, perhaps the latest revelation will.  Sit down.  No, really sit down for this.  Oh you are?  OK then.

What happens when you cross Left 4 Dead with Gears of War 2's Horde mode and set it in the Call of Duty: World at War universe?  You get a friggin AWESOME looking 4 player co-op mode that becomes available after completing the game's single player.  This fall just isn't fair.

The zombie apocalypse mode not only features wave after wave of the Nazi undead in 4 player co-op, it actually has a strategy element to it.  As you complete each wave, you'll earn money.  This money can then be used to buy objects and items to defend your fortification.  You see - you aren't going anywhere.  The zombies, they are coming for you.  Wave after wave into your little rickety old hideout.  The only thing you can do is throw stuff into the windows and doors to slow their pursuit of your brains down.  We've got some footage of the new mode posted after the Read More link.

Seriously, who's NOT getting this game now?

Re Bap...

You know, I am NOT a zombie person. I don't know if that's an hardwired GUY thing, but I must have missed that boat. So normally, I wouldn't spend money on a game centered around zombies.

That said -- and since I'm already buying World at War -- I am excited for this mode. It's something for the casual AND hardcore, it's co-op at its best, and it is a nice distraction for when the punks start glitching on Roundhouse.

Any word if the co-op is split screen?

Looks like this CoD title just jumped up higher than GoW2 on my list. I'll take 4-player co-op campaign over just a horde mode any day. And Nazi Zombies? That part writes itself!

This really wasn't on my radar at all, but the coop zombie mode has me intrigued. It might be a rental or a used pickup later down the line, after we've worked our way through the glut of other new releases.

I really hope this game has split-screen for at LEAST two players. It would be sweet if they were able to do four-player co-op split-screen for the zombie mode.

I never talk when I play online on COD. No one really says anything worth listening to, or no one talks whatsoever.
