Assassin's Creed 3 Four Player Co-Op Mode 'Wolf Pack' Revealed

No longer a one man wolf pack

It has been revealed that co-op has finally come to Assassin's Creed 3. The new mode dubbed 'Wolf Pack' will feature four player co-op that will have your team taking down NPC targets. This is a first for the franchise and we are definitely excited to be running as a group rather than a one man wolf pack.

Stabbing dudes has always been satisfying throughout each of the Assassin's Creed games, and now with the opportunity to assassinate waves of enemy targets with friends is tantilizing. Each assignment will become more difficult so you must devise more elaborate and stealthy attempts with each kill. Keep in mind that you can't wait in the shadows forever as you will be racing against the clock take out the enemy (or enemies) and your wolf pack will have to rely on cooperation and communication to succeed at the higer levels.

Visually the Wolf Pack mode looks very similar to the previous multiplayer, with a familiar hud and a compass directing you in the general direction of your target. Each player will take on the role of a different assassin, so you won't be fighting over who gets to wear the white cloak.

Look forward to Assassin's Creed 3 hitting this fall on October 30th (31st in Europe) for the PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3.

Meh, I really don;t like this whole timed co-op adventure. Why can't it be a campaign or something? This reeks of a cheap way to do co-op in the multiplayer framework they already have.

I second that, a normal, maybe 2 player Sandbox style Co-op mode would be awesome... with LAN!

I wonder how the actual co-op aspect will work. Will the assassinations require teamwork, or will it be more competitive to see who scores the most?

As to working co-op into the campaignÂ… well, I don't think the Assassin's Creed franchise is well suited to that at all. But I would like to see richer co-op implementations in the multiplayer side of the game for sure.

Well from what I read, the target may be in a group of guards and instead of just killing the target, you may need a buddy to help take out the guards so your kill combo stays high. Something like that, I think.

In essence, the goal is to kill as many targets as fast as possible, so you need teamwork to takeout guards quickly.

I read that if you assassinate the wrong person then you are stunned until your partner comes and heals you so you will be encouraged to stay close together. I'm not going to complain about someone adding a co-op mode. I'm just glad they are trying something co-op.

I hope its not a let down like the 'co-op' campaign for Rage was, among other games.
