Halo Waypoint Co-Op Night: Collectible Night

Event
Twitter facebook googlebuzz

2010-04-16

Your access to Halo 2's online multiplayer may be ending on Thursday, but Friday we're firing up Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST for a co-op night unlike any of our previous ones.  We'll be joining the Waypoint crew to help everyone get those long lost collectible items like Skulls in Halo 3 and Audio Logs in ODST.

Halo 3

Skulls - Halo 3 sports 14 skulls which add various effects to the game, including making it more difficult and adding special effects - can you say Grunt Birthday Party?  The mythic map pack also adds news skulls to the game

Terminals - There are 8 terminals scattered through the levels of Halo 3 which provide backstory and narrative to the Halo universe.

Halo 3: ODST

Audio Logs -  There are 30 audio logs scattered throughout Halo 3: ODST which provide the backstory for the game.

Skulls - ODST technically adds 3 skulls in its multiplayer maps

The event officially kicks off at 8PM EDT on Friday, April 16th.  To join up leave your gamertag below and look for the following staff and community gamertags online.  You can also send an invite to HaloCollectible on XBL and use the friends of friends feature to find other people playing.

Haha...I have played all of about 5 minutes of Halo 3 since I got it from goozex two months ago. I guess I can find the time to put it in my 360.

lol @ jackel. you're missing out! you should really play through the campaign before you try to tackle the skulls/terminals (or get them along the way).

i've collected everything in both games so i'll help anyone with anything.

i figured i'd dump some links for everyone:
halo3 skulls - remember to set difficulty at normal or higher
halo 3 terminals - make sure you read EVERYTHING in each terminal
ODST audio logs - best youtube video walkthrough i've seen. best way to do it is to pause it when he shows the map, get yourself to that spot, then hit play and watch where he goes. #30 is in a separate video (look at the "response to" section). also, you MUST have all 29 from the city before you go for #30 in data hive.

feel free to hit me up on friday!

I've got em all - what I need to collect are campaign Vidmaster achievements. I'll help with skulls, terminals, and audio files, but could we also dedicate some Friday nights for Annual, Deja Vu, and Endurance?

@Smurphster. I probably would be through the campaign, but I got it just before Chaos Rising came out, followed by Bad Company 2.

Also. it turns out I won't be around for the co-op night. My in-laws are visiting so no games for me.

well that sucked! i walked l1ght3nstrike through getting all the audio logs but apparently you have to play ALL the missions to unlock data hive to get the last one. if you exit and start at data hive, you lose your progress. WTF bungie?!?!

here's a map btw: http://www.softsailor.com/wp-content/up ... ns-map.jpg

You enjoyed an evening well spent too? Bap, OrigamiPanther, Killtacular, and I learned the same thing. Apparently, your audio logs carry over from one mission to the next in single player, but changing levels in co-op resets everything. WTF Bungie indeed. For 2009's Co-op Game of the Year, ODST really isn't friendly to team players, whether it's taking away your audio logs or locking you out of Data Hive because you played a level over. I really hope Reach goes back to the linear structure, because Bungie clearly didn't think the open-world design through.
