There's some new DLC available for Operation Flashpoint: Red River. Titled "Valley of Death, " this content has eight new Fireteam Engagements. You'll get an additional two missions for each FE mode, including Combat Sweep, CSAR, Last Stand, and Rolling Thunder. These are 4 player online co-op scenarios with objectives like neutralizing all enemies, holding a position, or escort duty. We were a little luke warm on Operation Flashpoint: Red River, giving it a 3.5 out of 5 in our Co-Op Review, due in some part to the character SSgt. Knox. Luckily, the offensive military stereotype doesn't make an appearance in the Fireteam Engagements. If you have three friends who are good at military shooters, there's a lot of fun to be had here.

Didn't this game come out months ago? It sure did, if you live in Europe. Operation Flashpoint: Red River will be gracing North America with its presence next week. This latest video is similar to the others in style. An uber-tough military-type explains the situation: American Marines versus the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army, in a real (but made-up-sounding) country called Tajikistan. It's the kind of video that will have you chanting "USA! USA! USA!" at your computer. I'm home right now, so I'm only weirding-out a baby and two dogs, and who are they to judge me? I was thinking of sending a copy of this game to my cousin. He's currently rooming with a Chinese exchange student... Nah, I'm just kidding. Anyway, the video builds appropriate tension while showcasing some beautiful gameplay footage.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River is almost upon us. Okay, if you're in Europe it's already here. Nuts to you! In this latest developer diary the good folks at Codemasters discuss the new command wheel used for giving orders, the graphical details of bombs and getting shot, and a host of other things. They manage to do all this while sitting in some sort of dilapidated warehouse. Man, I thought my work space was bad. The game is supposed to be an incredibly realistic military shooter, which is just a fancy way to say that bullets killify everything real good.

Codemasters have announced a release date for Operation Flashpoint: Red River. That date is April 21st in the EMEA region and April 26th in North America. Apparently, the United States Marine Corps. and the People's Liberation Army of China are in some type of competition to see who is the best at urinating. There are some insurgents that need killing, as well. A new trailer sets the tone, and has the uber-bad-ass line: "We Feast on the Fury of Battle." Hilarity ensues.
