The weekly XBLA sale is the place I like to go to pick up a co-op bargain once in a while.  However, it sometimes feels like the same games appear over and over again, seriously what is the problem?  There is no problem, as long as it’s the Serious Sam games getting reduced.  The man's back catalogue is all reduced by 50% until May 13th.  Check out read more for the Serious Sam offers and the rest of the XBLA content incoming.

The Serious One is back in Serious Sam Double D XXL. The side-scrolling shooter will be coming to the Xbox LIVE Marketplace later this month. This gun-stacking, monster-blasting, run-and-gun, 2D adventure may look familiar, and it should. It's like last year's Serious Sam Double D on PC, only this time it's on the XBLA, there's co-op, three new letters in the title, and a whole lot more. 

Imagine a game that is like the fantastic Super Contra, but seen through the eyes of an animal tripping on LSD.  This is about halfway to the realisation that is Serious Sam: Double D XXL.  This XBLA exclusive 2 player local co-op title (it was out on PC without co-op) is coming to burn your earballs on February 20th.  Don't believe me that the game looks insane?  Better check out the new trailer for yourself.

Base humor has been part of gaming ever since Larry first put on his Leisure Suit.  In many ways Serious Sam Double D XXL is just trying to keep on this venerable tradition in the form of a local 2 player co-operative shooter.  However, rather than dated and tasteless attempts at sleeping with the opposite sex, Double D is populated with giant gorillas, dinosaurs and guns, guns, guns.
