V-Moda Crossfade M-100 Headset Impressions

Over the years I've reviewed, worn, listened, and tried dozens upon dozens of gaming headsets. They've all had one thing in common - they were designed for gaming and communication first and audio second. That's not to say any of these headsets sounded bad - the Astro A30s still are still my go to headsets I use almost daily. But the latest headsets I've been testing are different - they were designed with audio in mind first.  In fact the V-Moda Crossfade M-100 stereo headsets were designed "by the community" for both their weight, feel, and audio tuning.

Astro Announces Wireless MixAmp 5.8

One of the few problems we had with the Astro A30 Headsets earlier this year in our review was the amount of wires required to run it in conjunction with its MixAmp.  The MixAmp is the brains of the headset that give you the ability to balance game sound and voice volume as well as provide surround sound playback.  Now Astro has alleviated part of the problem by creating a wireless version of the MixAmp called the MixAmp 5.8.

Astro A30 Headsets on Sale for a Limited Time

We just got word from Astro that their A30 Headsets are discounted right now a full $50, bringing the price down under $100 for these awesome cans.  If you remember our review of these our one major complaint was the price, despite the immense quality.  In fact Astro claims that this limited time price drop was a direct reflect of the feedback of many users and reviewers - how's that for customer service?

Astro Announces the A30 Headset

Lets face it, if you wanted the be all-end all of headsets for your Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC co-op gaming experience you want the Astro A40's.  Of course it sits firmly in the "get what you pay for" category with a $199.99 price tag.  Today Astro has announced a new headset to its lineup, still compatible with the existing mix-amps that Astro makes, called the A30.
