The Xbox LIVE Marketplace is having a huge sale on EA games, many of which support some form of cooperative play. I know some of you think EA is an all-powerful, nightmarish entity that usually passes time by eating children and kicking puppies, but when the publishing juggernaut is not being evil it happens to put out some pretty cool games.
EA has released an Indie Bundle on Steam which features six titles for the low price of $21. The normal asking price for all six games would total almost $70. Best of all, five of the six include cooperative features - score!
The story of Deathspank comes to and end(?) with The Baconing. If you've been following this series at all, you know just how silly these games can get. Silly enough to title the third installment "The Baconing?" Yes, sir. The plot is inconsequential. All you need to know is that a group of goofy characters will come together for some light dungeon crawling and groan inducing, hit or miss humor. This trailer showcases some of these new characters. In true Deathspank fashion, they're worth a chuckle or an eye roll.
The Baconing, the rather oddly named sequel to DeathSpank, has finally received concrete release dates. The Playstation 3 version debuts on Tuesday, August 30, while the Xbox 360 version lands a day later on August 31.
Thongy Content Explosion! A whole lotta EA content is on sale over at the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Add-ons for games like Dragon Age: Origins, Madden, FIFA, and Medal of Honor are all 50% off. Some EA Xbox LIVE Arcade games are half off as well, including co-op titles such as RISK: Factions, Microbot, DeathSpank, an...
The other day I was asked what I thought of Dragon Age by one of my buddies. I sat for a moment and finally admitted “I have it, but haven’t played...” Why would someone do that? I have a strange quirk where I don’t like starting games unless I have time to finish them...
What with all the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, this one almost got by us. The Playstation Network is having a "Stock Up for Winter" sale, extending through Monday, November 29. The titles included in the sale are going for 50% off regular price. Only two co-op games are on the list. For the PS3, Deathspank is available for $7.49. For those who prefer their co-op in the handheld fashion, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker for the PSP is a mere $19.99. Check out the non-co-op deals at the link below.
Steam is offering two promotions starting this week - one for you and one for your friends. The first promotion is simple - just add 10 games to your wish list and you'll automatically be entered to win your entire wish list as one of 30 winners every day. Sounds pretty simple!
The past two years that I’ve been here with Co-optimus I’ve noticed one very important trend: Co-op games are coming in nice, affordable, downloadable packages. That being said, I’ve also noticed my hard drives filling up quickly - Be it my Xbox 360 250gig, or my PS3 80gig, space is running out...
DeathSpank and Shank are coming to the PC. "DeathSpank and Shank" also sounds like a fantastic rock opera, or maybe the name of the most kick-ass beauty pageant of all time. These two downloadable games have already made an appearance on XBL and PSN. They both offer fun but flawed co-op.
Major Nelson is out promoting Xbox Live deals in a whole new democratic way. On your Spotlight Channel, Xbox Live users now have the ability to have their voices heard on what games, or downloadable content should be discounted on the next Deal of the Week.
It’s been a long-running battle of fans based on a lot of nonsense and personal preference, but how do you choose which system to buy a game on? Content available? Support? Online connectivity? Or are you one that consults all of your friends before coming to a decision on which system to use?
DeathSpank. Hero to the Downtrodden. Vanquisher of Evil. Includer of Co-op. Is the hack and slash title by Ron Gilbert complete with peril, orphans, loot, thongs, quirky characters, and lots of poop. Is the co-op part of the fertile yet evil demon poop, or does it shine like magical unicorn manure?
Laverne and Shirley. Starsky and Hutch. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. These people all of something in common - they are co-op buddies till the end. And now Deathspank and Sparkles joins the long list of duos as the co-op pair is playable in the upcoming XBLA and PSN game called Deathspank. Looks like Sparkles got the shaft on the title for that one.
