'Splosion Man Title Update and Avatar Awards are LiveOctober 26th, 2009 at 3:34 PM by Jim "txshurricane" McLaughlin

We love 'Splosion Man. We really do. Good for a lazy weekend or tough-Achievement-gathering, this gem from indie dev Twisted Pixel had one major flaw in our eyes: online co-op laaaaag.

Devs to the rescue! Not only does today's title update supposedly fix this issue, it also finalizes support for Xbox Live Avatar Awards, such as virtual t-shirts. This update has been a long time coming, but we're glad for it. Don't forget to use the meetup forum to test out the online co-op!

We had the pleasure of meeting Josh Bear and Mike Henry of Twisted Pixel at PAX, easily one of the finer moments of the expo. Jason once again lead the introductions, at which point I blurted, "My wife won't let me play anything else!", regarding runaway hit 'Splosion Man (pun intended).

That's pretty much the case.

Splosion Man Patch Coming Soon, Twisted Pixel Reveals Comic JumperSeptember 05th, 2009 at 10:47 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

As we noted in our review of Splosion Man for the Xbox Live Arcade, there was some issues with lag while playing online.  It seemed over time the game got de-sync'd and eventually would render it almost unplayable.   Good news as Twisted Pixel's Josh Bear confirmed to me today at PAX 2009 that a patch for the game is in certification and that it should fix these issues that have been plaguing it.

Josh also snuck us a sneak peak at their upcoming game called Comic Jumper.  The platformer puts you in the role of a super hero who can jump in and out of different comic books, adjusting is style depending on the art style of the comic he's in.  The trailer is absolutely hilarious and we suggest you give it a watch.  No official word on co-op, but we've been told to keep a close eye on it!

Last year's "Summer Of Arcade" campaign brought us co-op favorite Castle Crashers and this year we've got 2 more co-op titles, along with a handful of other gems headed our way.

Here's the schedule, co-op titles in bold:

Personally after seeing the trailer for 'Splosion Man, I'm super excited about that.  Even though it isn't co-op, I'll be all over Marvel vs Capcom 2!  What games are you most excited for?

You would think they would patch the USB port stuff.. Its just silly to have to unplug stuff that you usually just leave plugged
Yeah but I think it would still be cool!
Thanks for clearing that up! I probably won't buy it though.
