Tribute Games struck gold with TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, a nostalgic beat 'em up that is loved by fans and critics alike. The next big project from Tribute and Dotemu is sure to find the same success: MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, another cooperative brawler that's coming out later this year. Adding to the excitement, two new characters have just been announced for Cosmic Invasion: the irascible Rocket Racoon and the sensational She-Hulk.
In MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, Annihilus has launched a massive attack across the galaxy. Earth's super heroes must team up with cosmic heroes in order to save the universe from destruction.
15 characters will be playable at launch. 9 have been revealed so far:
- Captain America
- Nova (Richard Rider)
- Storm
- Phyla-Vell
- Rocket Racoon
- She-Hulk
- Spider-Man
- Venom
- Wolverine
Both of today's announced characters are cool, but I find Cosmic Invasion's bulky character design for She-Hulk unappealing. It's a shame that Tribute Games didn't go with her more traditional look.
Teaming up with friends is half the fun of beat 'em ups, and Cosmic Invasion is ready for it. The game will support drop in, drop out co-op for up to 4 local and online players. That's less players than Shredder's Revenge, but players get to choose two tag team heroes here, which should create some exciting co-op dynamics.
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion will come to Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and Steam sometime in 2025.
