Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Will Feature Campaign Co-op

Finally, a Call of Duty with more than just Zombies co-op!

Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase was light on big franchise updates this year, but Activision can always be relied upon to announce a new yearly Call of Duty. This year's entry is Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and it looks to be a landmark installment. What's the big deal? Campaign co-op! Oh, Black Ops 7 will still have a cooperative Zombies mode, but the chance to experience the game's big-budget campaign with a friend(maybe even friends?) should be a rare treat. The last Black Ops with campaign co-op was 2015's Black Ops 3.

Black Ops 7 takes place in the year 2035, over 40 years after Black Ops 6. The teaser video sure looks futuristic given that the game only happens ten years from the present day, but that's video games for you.

Official details from the Call of Duty Blog:

Prepare to squad up with friends or play solo in a thrilling and innovative Co-op Campaign, harness near-future weaponry in a signature Multiplayer experience packed with brand-new maps and descend into the next twisted chapter of Round-Based Zombies in the heart of the Dark Aether.

There's still a lot we don't know about Black Ops 7, including the release date. Black Ops 6 came out in late October, so this one will probably arrive at a similar time. We'll keep our ears to the ground for campaign co-op and Zombies details!

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is coming to Xbox/Windows, PlayStation, Steam, and Battle.net later this year. No Switch 2 version has been announced, but maybe it'll happen with next year's installment.
