"Blood of the Dead" Reveals Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Zombies Mode

Since Call of Duty: World at War, the series staple for co-op has been its zombies mode. The four player cooperative mode has players balancing base building, weapon upgrades, and survival with attempting to proceed to higher and higher levels and unlock narrative secrets. Today Treyarch have revealed the zombies mode included with the multiplayer only Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Who needs a campaign?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Revealed, Will Have 3 Zombie Maps at Launch

Yesterday, Activision and Treyarch revealed the next installment in the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and things are a bit different this time. It was rumored the title wouldn't have any campaign and would be multiplayer only, which was confirmed by the announcement yesterday and further explained by the developer in an interview with Polygon. The good news is that the game will launch with a Zombies mode and it sounds like it may be a little bit "richer" in its offerings than in year's past.

The zombie train keeps a-rollin'

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombies Maps Can Now Be Purchased Individually

Until just recently, those who were interested in the post-launch content for Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 were effectively lumped into the same bucket.  Regardless of whether or not you wanted to play the cooperative "Zombies" mode or the other competitive modes, you paid for a single package containing both options.

This new DLC for the game includes some remastered zombie maps from Call of Duty's past.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Now on Backwards Compatibility List

Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops was a bit of a different take on the series up until that point. Rather than looking at World War II or modern combat, it delved into the secretive and conspiratorial world of clandestine operations. It also laid the groundwork for the familiar zombie DLC campaign. For all you fans out there, you can now enjoy the game on your Xbox One via Backwards Compatibility.
