Namco Bandai is teaming up with Saber Interactive, the developers for the 2007 game Timeshift, to bring us a new type of co-op shooter. Inversion is set in one possible near-future, when Earth has been invaded by an enemy with the ability to openly manipulate gravity. Inversion puts you in the shoes of officer Davis Russel or his neighbor, Leo Delgado to search for Davis' child after the town has been turned upside down by the hostile invasion of the mysterious Lutadore.

Valve has announced the first piece of downloadable content for Left 4 Dead 2 called "The Passing."   It takes place just after the Dead Center campaign of L4D2 and is set in a small town in rural Georgia.  Players assume the role of the L4D2 Survivors as they meet with the L4D1 characters of Bill, Zoey, Francis, and Louis.  Awww, group hug.

2008 and 2009 are no stranger to co-op survival modes. "Waves of enemies"..."team up to survive"...these phrases are quickly becoming mainstream.

Like mistresses of Tiger Woods, game demos are coming out of the woodwork this month! The latest to appear is the English version of the Japanese Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker demo that we gave our impressions on in October.

Earlier this year, we brought you the news that Blizzard was asking the community for what they wanted in the next patch for venerable action RPG Diablo II.  Besides the obvious desire for rainbows and glitter, a few more serious requests were made, namely, the ability to respec.  Thankfully, hundreds of other Diablo II fans had similar requests, and a respec has been added to the game, at long last!

Electronic Arts has announced that a demo for Army of Two: The 40th Day will be released this Thursday, December 17th, on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network.

Along with a handful of game unveils, the Spike TV Video Game Awards actually, you know, gave out awards.  Co-Op gaming did quite well, with 13 of the 28 awards being captured by a game with a co-op mode.

Harmonix and MTV have officially announced the next "band" music game, and it's going to be based on the punk/rock band Green Day.  The game is set to be released next year which would be the band's 20th year in existence.

Our next Xbox Live Co-Op night approaches, and once again we're calling upon Xbox Live members to fend ourselves from the undead. We'll be playing Left 4 Dead 2 and we want you to join us!

Last night's Spike TV VGAs gave us the promised look at Halo Reach, and for fans of cooperative gaming, things look very interesting.

The first gameplay trailer for Crackdown 2 was unveiled tonight during the Spike TV Video Game Awards, and it was awesome to say the least.  

Left 4 Dead 2 has received another update via Steam, making it the 4th patch the game has received since launch on the PC.  The update addresses various bug fixes and tweaks, with the biggest change being hit boxes on the special infected being updated.  Hit boxes are the areas on enemies that get count as "a hit" when you shoot them.   We imagine they've tweaked this to be a little more accurate.
