The Akrid from Lost Planet 2 are multiplying, and Capcom wants us to know what we're up against. First, Capcom has given a name to the giant salamander akrid that you faced in the demo. You can now call that giant ugly creature Gordiant. His boss profile suggests that he likes eating survivors, long walks on the beach - but may lose interest if you shoot him in the tonsils. He's one of the few bosses that will actually swallow you and your friends (and have you live to tell about it), but as long as you've got ammo, you can take him out from the inside.

According to Joystiq, we have a date for the upcoming two player co-op, side scrolling, comedic shooter; Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond.  The game is set to release on January 6th on the Xbox Live Arcade and January 7th on the PlayStation Network.  

Many were shocked to hear that a Valkyria Chronicles sequel was in the works, and furthermore, were shocked to hear it was going to have a cooperative mode.  But everyone's collective jaws hit the floor when they found out the game was going to be a PlayStation Portable exclusive.  Why would Sega choose to go this route for a sequel to one of the most beautiful PlayStation 3 games available?

The Mario Bros. series has remained incredibly popular through the years. But one thing that has been missing from most Mario Bros. games is co-op. The latest game in the series, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, goes back to Mario's roots in co-op, allowing four players to join together to beat Bowser.

Call of Duty 7 is going to be a historical game, or at least, contain some sort of history.  That's according to a Treyarch job posting for the next iteration of the series.  The job posting has the following responsibility listed for a level designer:

With the holiday season bustling with titles squeezing in last-minute hype, it's nice to see separate blogs spreading the word on what looks to be a solid portable title in January.

It appears the long wait is nearly over.  Epic RPG White Knight Chronicles is headed overseas to a Playstation 3 near you.  Fans of giant knights in pointy armor have only to wait until the game's release on February 2, 2010.  Dubbed the "International Edition", this is no mere localization, and adds in several features that weren't in the original Japanese version.

The world premiere of Halo Reach is just a few short days away, December 12th to be accurate.  You'll need to tune into the Spike TV Video Game Awards to witness this event of events, and if Spike's Geoff Keighley is to be trusted, Reach is going to be huge.
