Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings Co-Op Review

Indiana Jones is one of my all-time favorite action and adventure franchises, and I am not alone in that sentiment. Unfortunately, even the greatest sagas have some lame chapters. Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings embraces the Nintendo Wii's motion controls and attempts to create an enjoyable niche for Indy fans. Does it succeed as a unique and fun adventure title deserving of the titular character, or does it fall in as a lame chapter to possibly the most famous fedora-donning hero ever?

Who hasn’t dreamed of commanding a horde of minions, blazing a path of destruction through their enemies while cosplaying as Sauron and brandishing an outlandishly oversized weapon? …What?  Why am I the only one who has that dream?  Well, I suppose if you’re a deviant like me, then Overlord 2 may just be your perfect game.

Brink Developer On The Art Of Co-op

To co-op, or not to co-op: that is the question. Developers have recently acknowledged that gamers actually like to play together, but often miss a valuable point. Many co-op modes are simply that: modes within an otherwise single-player game. Brink developer Edward Stern gets passionate about his co-op, wondering why we can't have the best of all worlds more often!

"All Fronts" Brings New Co-Op Achievements to Gears of War 2

You've probably been busy revisiting Gears of War 2 lately, given the new update and "All Fronts" map pack released recently.  As is becoming more and more common lately, there are a bundle of additional achievements with the DLC.  The new achievements raise the maximum you can earn up to a whopping 1750 gamerscore points.  Playing through "Road to Ruin", the bonus chapter, in co-op will net you 50 points, plus an additional 25 if you replay it in the opposite style (stealth vs. guns blazing).  The majority of the remaining achievements are all related to perennial favorite Horde mode!  The achievements are tied to specific maps from the new content, and also to your multiplayer level, which, you'll recall, you can now earn XP for in Horde mode.  Look us up if you're online and trying to get these new cheevies!

All 85 Guitar Hero 5 Songs Revealed, Metalheads Breathe Sigh of Relief

The finalized set list for Guitar Hero 5 has been revealed.  While certainly a bit more "pop" than its predecessors, there's still plenty of hard rockin' tunes.  Dire Straits is a welcome addition to the franchise, appearing for the first time with one of their best tunes, "Sultans of Swing".  Live versions of a handful songs are on the list, notably "Lithium" by Nirvana and "Spirit of Radio" by Rush (wewt).  With the welcome addition of drop in/drop out co-op rockin', Guitar Hero 5 is certainly intriguing.  It might just be the shot in the arm the faltering franchise needs.

Little Big Planet Brings PS3 And PSP Together With Cross-Talk

Playstation 3 and PSP have hinted at cross game synergy since the PS3's release.  We've seen content transfer between the systems with the likes of PlayStation 1 downloads, and the PSP is said to work remotely with some PS3 games, which I can't seem to get to work.  What we haven't really seen yet are games tailored to use this feature to enhance gameplay and add bonuses. That will change with the upcoming PSP release of Little Big Planet, uniting both versions of the game through something called "Cross-talk."

Female Gear Possible In A Theoretical Gears Of War 3?

Have you ever wondered where all the women in the Gears of War universe went? Aside from the few slaves we've seen and Marcus's dispatcher love-interest Anya, there seems to be a specific shortage of the female variety. A few months ago I happened across a Gears of War comic which featured the above image on the cover, and thought to myself "That'd be so cool!" Apparently, I wasn't the only one.
