For those of you still waiting for a Fable 2 patch to fix some show stopping bugs, well there's good news. According to the official Fable 2 Dev Blog the patch is "nearing completion" with several bugs and fixes all rolled into a tightly packed nugget of patchiness. I'm guessing the goal is to have the patch ready by December 12th, when the new DLC content hits.

For me, the best co-op games are the ones that make me feel like a total geek while playing them. Left 4 Dead did this for me, since I was constantly remarking how it was like 28 Days Later, in addition to other obscure zombie movie references. The only way the co-op game can be any more fun is if I am surrounded by other people basking in geekery. Fortunately I got the chance this week, as I played a game that is essentially a perfect storm for geeks: Marvel Ultimate Alliance.
Sony's PlayStation 3 turned 2 years old last month, with the PlayStation Network registering 14 million accounts. If you are keeping score, that puts the online community of Sony's PlayStation Network neck and neck with Microsoft's Xbox Live service. Of course the big thing here is cost, with Xbox Live Gold setting users back about $4 a month and PSN being completely free. Yes we know, Silver is free.
Microsoft has launched a stand alone client (download here) for their recently updated Games for Windows Live service. The client features a Marketplace, Media and Overview section; but what's surprisingly missing is anyway to browse achievements, view your friends list, or send and receive messages. Granted this is only the first release of the client, but right now it's little more than a glorified webrowser into the marketplace. I know personally the marketplace is the last of those listed features I wanted from a standalone client.

Billy's not the only sad mechanical being around. Look at that poor DS! He may be slick and sexy, and have some awesome single-player titles available to play, but he sure gets lonely. There's just not a huge selection of co-op titles for the sad little DS. What few there are usually feature local co-op only. Sad, eh?
The above screenshot may be a bit dark (doh, he went there again), but the future is looking quite bright for Diablo 3. To say that the game is highly anticipated is like saying the surface of the sun is a bit toasty. We're looking forward to some co-op demon slaying goodness, the sooner the better.
