If you can't cooperate, you'll destroy the world.

Eco Makes Sandbox Ecosystems More Realistic

Eco bills itself as a global survival game, and it takes that label very seriously. Traditionally speaking, it could be called a sandbox survival game with elements of realism tacked on. When we say "realism", we're not talking about realistic jump heights or anything like that. Eco's world is run in a realistic way, making resources hard to get and even harder to get sustainably.

Open World Co-Op RPG Wanderlust Adventures Finds its Way to Steam

A couple years back, a little online co-op RPG called Wanderlust: Rebirth washed onto the internet's shores. It was well-received, if a bit flawed, but it allowed the developer to focus on what was originally planned as an update to the first game. Instead, developer Chucklefish suggested the procedurally generated open world "adventure mode" be released standalone. Call it, oh, Wanderlust Adventures, why not?

Just kidding, that's not for at least another 3 years.

Our Weekend In Gaming: The Dystopian Future Is Now Edition

Another workweek is in the books, but the Co-opticrew remains as busy as ever.  Some of us are embracing our dystopian future and playing exclusively phone games, and others are enjoying something called "real life(?)", but a few brave souls are keeping the true video game dream alive via monster hunting, arena shooting, and organizational feud simulation.

Shrimpers Forever Volume Ten: It's Hard Out There For A Shrimp(er)

Chester McSlappy sighed.  The airport shuttle was ferrying no fewer than five of his best players (and "DJ" Khaled Hassan) off to represent their respective nations.  It should've been an honor to manage a team fielding coveted international footballers, he thought to himself as he hovered back to his office in the Loading Dock, but this felt terrible.  On his desk sat yet another stack of paperwork announcing his inability to field a full team for their upcoming fixture.  The sounds of Jack Payne and Kim Chang Soo playing another round of "Legsnapper" echoed from the training ground as Chester sat down and glumly began to fill out his acceptance of the latest forfeit.

Because you didn't really slay stuff in the other versions of the game.

Gauntlet Hits PS4 as Gauntlet: Slayer Edition

The Warrior, Wizard, Valkyrie, and Elf are still at it, hacking away like nobody's business. The modern reboot of the classic arcade franchise was met with more than a few nodding heads when it hit in the summer of 2014. It's a bit late to the party, but the game has finally spread to PlayStation 4 under a new, retooled name: Gauntlet: Slayer Edition.

Team up with friends to take on quests and engage in events

PvZ Garden Warfare 2 Will Have a Dynamic Hub

Rather than do the usual menu-driven lobby affair that other games employ, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 will allow players to group up and access all of the title's various modes/maps from there. The hub will also feature its own series of dynamic events to keep players engaged in the continuing feud betwixt floral and undead.

New Taken King Screens and the Changes in Store for Destiny

The first year of Destiny has been a rather bumpy road. There have been some good moments, like the content in the "House of Wolves" expansion, and bad, like having to level up all your gear again. Developer Bungie has been saying they've been listening to all the feedback, and it looks like they were telling the truth.

Learn To Trust Your Friends Even Less In Overlord: Fellowship Of Evil

Friendship is difficult.  Even the kindest of folks happen upon events or realizations that alter the way they look at each other, and that's to say nothing of those who are hell-bent on conquering the physical plane.  Overlord: Fellowship of Evil, acknowledges that time spent with co-op partners can occasionally lead to frustration, which is why they're including ways to... alleviate that.
