Yet again, Duke is playing the part of a tease.

Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition Released on Steam, Co-Op Coming Soon

Duke Nukem will never die, and when it comes to his classic 3D outings, we're totally ok with that. Recently released on Steam, Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition packs together the original Duke Nukem 3D along with the enhanced Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition and three expansion packs: Life's a Beach, Duke it Out in D.C. and Duke: Nuclear Winter. It also boasts several servings of Steam features, including achievements and cloud support.

Duke Nukem 3D is Free for 48 Hours at GoG

PC classic game Duke Nukem 3D is free for 48 hours over at GoG.com as part of their Winter promotion.  The game was released in 1997 for DOS and became an instant hit for PC gamers.  Duke Nukem 3D supports four player co-op via LAN or Internet through the entire campaign.  We've seen a recent release on Xbox Live Arcade which bumped the co-op count from 4 to 8, as well.  The version on GoG is the Atomic Edition.

Xbox LIVE Deal of the Week Feb 22nd - Duke Nukem 3D Only 400 MSPs

"It's time to kick XBLA and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of gum."  The latest tweet from 3DRealms has revealed that next weeks XBLA Deal of the Week is 8 player co-op classic Duke Nukem 3D.  At the bargain price of 400 Microsoft Points it would be a shame not to rid the world of alien scum.  So as of February 22nd make sure that you "come get some."  Why not visit Co-Optimus' meet up forums and find 7 like minded steroid infused psychopaths to play with?

Co-Op Classics: Duke Nukem 3D

A few weeks back, we had a contest, giving away three copies of Duke Nukem on XBLA.  A nice bonus for the winners was the promise of playing co-op Duke Nukem 3D with the Co-Optimus staff.  Last Saturday night, one of the winners got together with us for some old school, one-liner spoutin' action.  Since Duke Nukem is such a classic, and features co-op, it's only natural that our report on the action would be the topic of this week's Co-Op Classics.

Duke Nukem Caption Contest Results!

A week has come and gone, and it's time to announce the winners in our Duke Nukem 3D Caption Contest.  If you haven't had the chance, you can check out all the entries here in the original news post.  I'd be nice and say that all the entries were great, blah blah, but I ask you, What Would Duke Do?  Would he be nice?  Nope, he'd laugh at a few of them, and use a rocket launcher on all the rest.  So, without any further delay, here are your winners, in no particular order...

This Week in Co-Op: Duke Nukem 3D

This week has been a busy one for me. That's part of the reason why This Week in Co-Op is a day late. However, I hope that I can make it up to you all. I think I might be able to, because I've been spending the week playing a game that most all gamers can agree is either cool, or at least features a cool character. The game in question is Duke Nukem 3D on XBLA,.

Enter Our Duke Nukem 3D Caption Contest!

Duke Nukem 3D was the most downloaded XBLA game the week of its release, which is no surprise to us here at Co-Optimus.  It also managed to crack the top 10 games played over Xbox Live, which just goes to show you, you can't keep a good man, or a walking cliche, down.  The game features an 8 player co-op mode, which makes us very happy.  We're so happy, in fact, that we've decided to celebrate!
