Earlier this month, Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition was released on Xbox Live Arcade. A very rare first person brawler, we found the game to be pretty good, though the lack of campaign co-op was troubling. The trippy game world and inclusion of dual wielded fish pistols were highlights. If only you could carry a couple real life fish pistols while on the treadmill, or in the car, wouldn't that be great? Well, your neighbors would likely look at you funny if you did. So, you'll just have to content yourself with downloading the complete soundtrack to the game for all your excercising and driving needs. Best of all, you can get it free, until May 31st.
Is there a rarer genre than the first-person brawler? How about a game where first-person melee combat not only works, but feels good? Chilean developer ACE Team's Zeno Clash is an extremely solid experience set in one of the most bizarre gameworlds I've seen in a long while.
Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition had a bit of a delay (it was supposed to be released March 31st), but it's finally coming to XLBA this Wednesday, May 5th. Atlus has also released a video showing off two more of the new features added to the Ultimate Edition: the Character Gallery and Awareness System. The Character Gallery allows you to view the 3D models of characters (friendly or hostile) you've come across in the game along with bios. The Awareness System is part of the fighting interface. If an enemy that you're fighting is off-screen, an icon of it pops up at the bottom of your screen, helping you keep track of where it is.
A little while back we gave you guys a heads-up and trailer for Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition for XBLA. We originally told you that it would release today, March 31st, but plans have changed. It's now set to release in early April. Atlus will be releasing more specific details in one of their next press releases. If the XBLA version's price is about the same as the PC version's price, we should expect the price to be about 1200
ACE Team has released a brand new trailer for Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition which shows off the game's two player co-op mode. As we've detailed before, the co-op mode has two players teaming up through Tower Challenges, basically floor after floor of bad guys.
Atlus has revealed that Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition is set to launch on Xbox Live Arcade next month. The game is a port of the independent PC title Zeno Clash which launched in April of last year. The game is actually a first person shooter brawler, something a bit like Mirror's Edge.
We mentioned some time back that an Xbox LIVE Arcade port of the PC indie hit Zeno Clash was in the works and that this version would include, among a few other features, the ability to play the game co-operatively. ACE Team, the studio behind the game's development, recently revealed a few more details about this port to VG247.com, including what to expect regarding the game's co-op mode.
