MOBA - Mechs Or Bust, Always

You May Have Missed It, But AirMech Arena Is Out Now On Current Gen Consoles

The world just has too few mech battlers these days, with fewer still existing on the current generation of consoles.  If you've had a hankering to crush puny ground troops (and also other mechs) with your pulsing, mechanical fists, then you could do plenty worse than the action/strategy experience in AirMech Arena.  For example, you could play Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor, otherwise known as Claw Your Own Eyes Out 2K15.

Get in the arena

AirMech Arena Closed Beta Starts July 23rd

If giant transforming robots of destruction are your thing (insert Michael Bay reference here) than AirMech Arena might be right up your alley. This free to play title combines the fast pace of a top down shooter with real time strategy elements, while also throwing some MOBA action into the arena. AirMech Arena, from Ubisoft and Carbon Games, will see a release this summer on Xbox 360, but not before the closed beta which runs July 23 - 29.

A terrifying marriage between dual stick shooter and RTS

AirMech Arena Coming to Xbox Live this Summer

Summer is a mere month away, meaning another Xbox Live's Summer of Arcade is sneaking up on us. Of course, we don't know which pick up and play games will be included in the promotion, though an Xbox 360 only release with the release date of "Summer 2014" might give you a hint. Speaking of which: AirMech Arena is dropping this summer for Xbox Live.

AirMech is Co-Op Comp Stomping Anywhere, Anytime

Indie developer Carbon Games were showing off the latest version of their RTS/MOBA hybrid called AirMech at PAX East 2012 and I chatted with a member of the developer about the game.  The idea of it is a hybrid of the genres, players won't be building any bases like traditional RTS games, but they will have a variety of structures to manage units from.  And unlike most MOBA games (think League of Legends) - players have more direct control over the other units on the battlefield.
